33 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark orange with a huge light tan head. Aroma is overripe fruit, solid caramel malt and a light spice note. Fullbodied mouthfeel. Flavour is dense fruity, raisin and other dried fruit notes. Solid caramel malt flavour. Spiced. Towards light woody. Lingering fruity and sharp caramel malt flavour into the finish.

An unclear dark orange beer with a very fine creamy head. The aroma is very sweet and fruity. The flavor is powerful, sweet, fruity but in a special way, probably because of the spice blend, its hard to be specific - it contains orange and some peber and others. A nice powerful goodnight beer. It ends on a woody dryness and a slight bitterness - with the dryness sticking with you.

Bottled. Orange colour, big fluffy white head. Aroma of alcohol and caramel. And lots of other stuff. Flavour is also full with caramel, alcohol, malts dry fruits. Another extremely welldone brew by Maredsous. These brews are, except for good session drinks also totally lovely to combine with food! Super!

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful amber coloured beer with a tall, pretty head. Hazy and unclear. Full-bodied, rather fruity with a pleasant soft hop-touch. Extremely easy to drink in spite of the high alcohol. A very warming strong abbey beer. 060993

Early amateur rating warning! Strong tasting beer. But pretty drinkable.

Nicely balanced, bitter throughout with a bot of lemon and pepper in the background. Nice example of the style.
