33cl bottle, at home @10°C Dark orange, hazy colour (hazy only if you pour in the yeast at the bottom). Fine and creamy head. Sweet fruity flavour (orange?). Pleasant woody and slight alcoholic aftertaste. There are surely better Tripel out there but many, many worse. Recommend

Amargor medio. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I located this 330 ml bottle of tripel along with Maredsous' bruin at a Total Wine in Ft. Worth a few weeks ago. I have never sampled either but that is about to change. The top is is lifted and I pour into my Buffalo Bayou tulip glass. The liquid is a dark gold and the resulting foam is an off-white color that settles down to a nice covering layer on top of the body. The bouquet is enticing, I detect peach, biscuit, some yeastiness and spun-sugar sweetness. The taste is a great match to the smell, it delivers ripe yellow fruit, melon, cereal, a subdued honey-sweetness. It feels heavier in the mouth than other tripels, a plus for me. There is a small concluding bitterness. While the alcohol does not jump at me, I certainly am aware of it. Really fine overall.

Bottle at Cafe Bruxelles, Leicester. Dark golden, clear with a filmy white head. Sweaty, grainy scent. Very little of the candy sugar yeast I normally get from traditional Tripels. Sweet honeyed taste, not especially engaging but pleasant enough. Bitter and slightly astringent in the finish. A surprisingly bland Tripel.

Bottle shared with JFE and BG at Vaaland Bryghuus. Golden. Off-white head and lacing. Fruity aroma and taste, with warming alcohol, floral hops, fresh grass and pale malt. Good!
