Sampled long time ago in Antwerp. Neutral aroma. Chesnut colour, laing creamy brown head. Dusty/yeasty edges, oranges, roasted, earthy notes. Tart hebal finish. Medium body. Earthy rye bread aftertaste. Not my favourite.
From old tasting notes. Reddish brown color with a huge tan head capping lots of big bubbles. Sweet caramel-like roasted malt aroma. Flavor follows the nose with a candy-like quality. Big warming alcohol prescence. Intense bittersweet malt flavor. Caramel, bread, nutty and earthy. Excellent. Senka (1082) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAR 28, 2014
From the archives: Had a gift pack from Brussels + variety on the side. All beers in the series are well balanced and complex. This one was rather thin. From time to time, Mardesous beers are available in Tallinn, Stockmann . (Not this one though) Juni88 (83) - NETHERLANDS - NOV 27, 2013
Ok dubbel/dark ale. Some sweet licorice and caramel, nice amount of bitter in the aftertaste. stoutproever (15) - - APR 3, 2013

, 33cl. Head: beige colored foam. Color: clear copper. Aroma: fruit. Taste: some bitter and sour. Palate: refreshing, somewhat watery body. Overall: ok.
Bottle. Muddy brown colour with nice off white head. Faint bovril in aroma? My nose is knackered. Flavour is nutty, caramel, sweet but a good kind of sweet. Pleasantly surprised, I thought this was a tasty dubbel (which I’m presuming it is, I couldn’t find that if it isn’t). deanso (10070) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - NOV 22, 2010

The beer label says Maredsous Dobbel. This is the closest I could find. Pours brown caramel in the glass. Nose and taste of sweetness, dougs and beet sugars. Rated 6/15/2000 Bosskie (881) - NETHERLANDS - APR 20, 2010
Not sure about the appearance as I got it in the Maredsous pottery chalice thingy... nice creamy head though. Smell’s warm and earthy, with lots of spices. Reminds me of sourwood too. Bitter, liquorice, strong coffee taste. Very spicy, with very little sweet, rather salty actually. Very bitter aftertaste. Refreshing.
