Pours two fingers of head on a hazy dark straw body.
The aroma is huge pine resin, ripe grapefruit and lemon.
The taste is big pine and grapefruit bitterness throughout, but with a dose of malt to keep it fairly sweet too.
The texture is thick and chewy.

It’s been a helluva Tuesday as far as kind customers at the bar go; thanks to some random lady! Deep red amber pour, small white frothy head. The appearance certainly belies this one, as the malt character is very slight and this seems to be absolutely packed with old school hops; strikes me as Chinook and Simcoe, with big damp earth, manure, loam, biting spruce tip, pine resin, and grapefruit. Clean given the 8%. Right on.

Tap @ the local tap house, Sydney 2012. Magnificent. Best dipa I have had. Dark copper with a off white head and strong lacing. Big aromas of passionfruit, grapefruit juice, pine as well as a solid caramel and bready malt backing. The citrusy grapefruit/passionfruit, with a hint of peach and nectarine hits the palate first and then a strong caramel malt element pegs it back before a delicious whack of pine without an oily mouthfeel to make it highly drinkable. Golden orange with a moderate light beige covering that retains.
Nose is bitter tropicals, orange sherbet, light spice, caramel malt, bitter grapefruit.
Taste comprises bitter hop bite, candied sugars, pine resin, grapefruit, tropical fruits, light booze.
Medium + bodiment, fine carbonation, semi drying close with semi aggressive hop bitterness.
