2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
22 ounce bottle purchased at the Covell Nugget in Davis, CA. Aroma is cereal-like with plenty of grainy sweetness. I almost smells like wort that has been boiling. (It also looks like wort). There are also some fruity, floral banana-like aromas that are relatively refreshing. Opaque apple cider color and consistency, which a smallish, quickly dissipating white head. Pretty unattractive. Lightly grainy and cereal like to start, which becomes somewhat tart, sour, and astringent in the middle. Wheat malt flavors to finish, which is a bit dry. This seems like it’s lacking something. Clove and Banana aren’t there. I dont get any citrus either. The astringency, followed by the dryness just doesn’t work well with this beer. This is classified as a weizenbock, but I think it is classified incorrectly.
"a bit yeasty, but fairly good, drinkable beer. Nothing special (i like their ’bigger" beers better, but it was enjoyable enough. slightly spiced, heavier wheat flavor than expected." Ibrew2or3 (8660) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 4, 2013
22oz bomber pours with a clear gold body that supports a tall 2 minute long tan head. The aroma offers up sugary malt sweetness, some clove like spiciness and then modest notes of banana and apple. The taste is similar with sugary sweet malts and then it gets into banana, apples and some spicy clove like notes. Decent enough. Styles (2014) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - JAN 7, 2011
Hazy yellow, ring of film. Aroma reminds me of a dunkel, wheat isn’t very evident. Muted munich character, hint of smoke. Flavor is sweet through and through. Again not much of a wheat character, light spicy hops in finish. hayduke (5573) - Eureka, California, USA - APR 11, 2010
From a 22 oz bottle this poured a hazy cross between orange and gold with a while head and good lacing rings. The nose is citrus with some banana. Medium body and lively mouthfeel. Flavor is wheat and citrus. Finish is dry and spicy. yemenmocha (659) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - MAR 19, 2010
Pours cloudy brown with a touch of gold. Nose has some bruised banana and toasted wheat cracker. On the palate the bruised banana comes through as well but the focus is more on the wheaty flavors. Finishes malty sweet. Comes across unlike a true to style hefe-weizen.

A great take on a wheat beer - takes the traditional wheat flavor and adds a champagne-y crispness. Fairly light, and not a strong carbonation. ajm (1072) - Los Angeles, California, USA - NOV 1, 2009
Bottle from Hi Time. Not a fan. This doesn’t taste like a weizen bock as much as just a big wheat ale. Nose is thick yeast, flour, crust. Flavor was that tangy hefe weissen flavor plus dead malts. Slightly vegetal. Smooth but not very tasty. ghawener (1607) - Santa Tecla, EL SALVADOR - AUG 8, 2009
Bottle: Turbo charged Weizen! All you would expect from a Weizen but exponential. Food Pairing: Extra sharp cheese. yespr (45930) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2009
22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Mild citrusy hops aroma and light wheaty. Sweet wheat malty flavoured. Mild citrusy note. Medium dry and light estery flavoured finish. Rather plain brew, I guess it does well at the brewpub for those interested in smooth hefeweizen brews. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - MAR 25, 2009
Yellow with a fluffy white head. Grain braid aroma. Mild fruit slight banana and mild candy taste.
