(22 oz bottle, $2.80) The nose on this beer is fruity, sweet, grassy, floral and hoppy, and very inviting. This is a less bitter IPA than what you normally get from a west coast IPA, but it features an extremely floral hoppiness. It’s also fruity, lightly sweet, and mildly malty. Medium bodied, pleasantly coats the palate. Apricot in color and fairly cloudy. Very large off-white head fills about a third of the glass during the pour and very gradually settles to about an inch think layer. As the head settles (and I drink the beer), it leaves a lot of patchy ringed lace on the glass. This is pretty good overall, but I do like the malty IPA from Marin’s sister brewery (Moylan’s) better. This is a good IPA. Foamy white head that stuck around for the entire glass. Nice hop bitterness with citrus and tobacco flavors. Very drinkable, these guys continue to impress me with their beers. y0cola (361) - fremont, California, USA - OCT 23, 2004

Not much for head. Some lacing. Light amber. Restrained but enjoyable citrus hop aroma. Subtle hop flavours. Light IPA for the west coast but enjoyable. HopsOrDie (687) - New Lenox, Illinois, USA - JUN 26, 2004
Orange color with a small white head. Lots of pine in the aroma and flavor. Flavor has a lot of pine hop flavor with a heavy bitterness. A little sweetness but not much.

Very nice aroma with a flavor to match. One of the best IPA’s I have ever tasted. dahatherley (35) - Los Angeles, California, USA - APR 3, 2004
Pours a cloudy reddish orange body with frothy white head. Inviting floral hop aroma. Nicely balanced flavor with the malts eventually succumbing to the spicy hop finish. Have had this several times and it never disappoints. frankR (149) - Livermore, California, USA - APR 1, 2004
Pours thick with a thick white head. Liquid is cloudy yellow. Nose is very intense floral hops, smells like good cannabis. Body is warm hops, well balanced. Overall, excellent IPA. GEOBRAU (188) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - MAR 23, 2004
Bottle:(bomber) medium in color more brown than amber. Falls right in line with many above average IPA's. A good beer that just lacks the stereophonic hop pizzaz of Hop Devil, Ruination, and other IPA's to be had. Alcohol is hidden well by the sweet maltiness. AleDrinker (1089) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAR 1, 2004
I knew this was going to be a good one as soon as I cracked the cap. Huge hop aroma hits the nose. Fresh and citrusy bouquet makes my mouth water. Nice slightly murky amber color with medium head, fully lasting. Flavor of hops rinses across the tongue. The high alcohol of this beer never even crosses the mind. Lovely cascade aftertaste lingers in the mouth.
