COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Left End Pale Ale is an unfiltered version of our flagship Mt Tam Pale Ale. We usually add a bag of whole leaf hops to the serving tank, which contributes an additional layer of hop flavor to this pub only offering. Fresh live ale at its finest.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2011 Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a slightly murky amber color with a thin white head that dissipates to a film quickly. Spotty lacing. Hops and bready malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of piney hops and sweet malt. Finishes lightly hoppy with a short pine aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Had a sample at the brewery. My overall impression is that it has a pleasing flavor and aroma of a strong fresh brewed Darjeeling tea leaves. Refreshing and interesting.

(draft at brewery) Poured small head. Lightly cloudy. Dusky yellow body. Small hoppy aroma. VERY hoppy flavor. No doubt cascades and possibly liberty in there. Fresh tasting. Hoppy on palate in aftertaste.

Draught at the brewery, 5.7%. It was nice to see something to bridge the gap between the sub-5% Mt Tam and the stronger IPA. Amber gold color with a creamy white head. Medium intensity hoppy aroma with lots of spicy grapefruit and pine. Dry flavor with a bready malt profile, finishing dry and bitter with crisp, piney and grapefruit peel hops. Medium-light bodied with tight carbonation. Nice pale ale.

On tap at Lanesplitter in Berkely poured a hazy orange with a small lingering ivory head. Aromas of peach, apricot, carmel and light spice. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of peach, carmel and apricot with a smooth lingering lightly bitter finish.

pretty underwhelmed by this one. Not bad, but pretty piney and thin. Had on tap at the brewery.
