22 fl oz bottle. Pours pitch dark with a lovely creamy and chocolate brown head slowly diminishing in this lovely melting way into the beer beneath. Chocolate, roasted malt, mild vanilla and light hops fruity aroma. Flavour has all of this in a nice creamy blend with a fruity flavour that lends itself towards a blackberry note. Medium sweet and fruity hops finish swept in a nice creamy chocolate malty and slight tarish roasted malt finish. Lovely and highly drinkable!

Bottle. Pitch black thick brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, giving it a bit of acidity, but also notes of dark bitter chocolate, leading to a dry bitter roasted and chocolaty end. But the body is a bit thin.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of Rastacouere. Pours completely opaque black with a rough, light brown head. Aroma is full of burned caramel. Quite full-bodied with burned, malty accents - also sweetish roasted. The finish is dry and bitter. 100507

Bottled. Dark black, rich creamy head. Aroma of coffee and plums. Raisiny and fairly full bodied with smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Loads of cocoa. Sweet and rather one-dimensional.

Bottle at home ... Thanks to Agent Steve for this one ... deep black with short lived brown foam head ... oddly almost no nose just a faint roast .. soft roast ... light hint of sourness ... some gentle coffee ... like the nose this has a very low flavour level... whats there is quite tasty ... some chocolate ... a ligth vanilla ... but ive never seen such a low flavour profile in a stout... ligth roast bitterness in linger ... Ok its coming to life a bit more as it warms up ... I hadnt chilled it ... I NEVER CHILL beers but it was direct from my beer storage about 16C (60F) so not that ... more roast shows ... and a bit more chocoalte ...

More or less black in colour with light brown head. Roasty, malty and even a bit tangy aroma. Smooth body, rich with chocolate and roast. A little bit of nuttiness, too. Decent bitterness but otherwise no particular hop character. This is a classic rich and meaty American stout.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a dark brown body and a dense dark beige head. Lots of coffee in the aroma, some chocolate and burnt malts. Dry, full-bodied, with a soft carbonation. Coffee dominates the flavor too. Some toffee and some chocolate too. Lasting finish. Perhaps a bit too focused on coffee, but hey, it’s a breakfast stout. 130806
