Pours black with tan head. Chocolate, coffee, caramel and roasted malt aromas. Creamy chocolate and roasted malt flavors with a hint of coffee. Short roasted finish.
Emeryville, Ca - BevMo! - 22 oz bomber. Sable black pour, mocha colored head, Aroma of creosote and licorice. Flavor presents some topsoil notes, a bit of anise seed, solid dollop of baker’s unsweetened chocolate. Pours a very dark brown with an espresso head. Rich, greasy, ash tray, and caramelized malt aromas. Mouthfeel is bit of a let down. Too light for a beer this big. Flavors all represent the aromas. Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Black with a creamy mocha head. Nose is burned charcoal, strong roast, quite dry. Taste is strong roast, charcoal, very dry chocolate, mocha, cacao nibs. 4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Black with frothy tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, coffee. Tastes of milk and dark chocolate, roast, coffee, cream. Medium body with a dry finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good.

Pours a finger of tan head on a black body.
The aroma is rich roasted malt, toast, burnt wood and milk chocolate.
The taste is rich malt with good balance, a touch of pine and coffee bitterness.
The texture is silky smooth and light. Wonderful.

Bottle: deep brown, light head and moderate lace. Very dark roasted nose with coffee, chocolate and brown source. The aroma is good but verging on bringing burnt or too heavily roasted. Dry to off dry, not sour and low bitterness. The palate is creamy but lacking in depth & complexity of flavor.

Taste comprises bitter roast, earthy cocoa rub, liqourice, dark toffee fudge.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
