COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
3 Flowers IPA is a straw colored Rye IPA. The three flowers referred to are Citra, Cascade, and Chinook hops, which are cast into the brew liberally, and contribute a lovely citrusy, floral aroma and a firm yet balancing bitterness. Malted rye and flaked rye, gently added to the grist of this refreshing brew, bestow an engaging dry spiciness and luscious mouth feel upon the imbiber. Please feel free to have another.

Shared with Leslie (who got the bottle from Golden Gate Wines). A straightforward IPA – mellow resin hop, oily and a bit herbal, grapefruit, pale malt, a bit of dry spice. Don’t taste much rye character. Body is light to medium, a little fluffy, good carbonation, dry finish. Nice palate - rounded and refreshing. Enjoyable and very drinkable even not very exciting.

Bottle from Key Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is tropical weed, wet fruity flowers. Taste is big juicy fruits, floral nectars. Very juicy, balanced and drinkable.

Orange pour with a huge frothy head. Aroma is a little spicy and slightly flowery. Light bodied. I think this beer is a little old. The hops have gone from this one and I’m left with flowery notes and lots of grain notes, notably caramel. A little lace present. I bet this is much better fresh.

DocJitsu (1979) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - AUG 24, 2016
Pours a mostly clear, fade lighter than classic golden with a white head. Grassy, citrusy hop nose. Soft, cottony mouthfeel. Just enough sweetness for an approximation of balance. Bitterness in spades. Dare I say it seems nearly tart.

On tap at Brasserie St. James in the Mission, having ended up here after finding our movie at the Alamo Drafthouse to be sold out. I’ve had this one before a couple of times but haven’t gotten around to rating it. Hazy orange gold pour, fruity and subtle aromas. Nice, well rounded hop character with starting bitterness and a tart, sour apple finish. Excellent crispness and balance for a heavy-hitting IPA. This will always be one that draws my attention when I find it.

Leighton (21296) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 24, 2016
Draft at the brewpub. Pours unclear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. Nice pithy citrus in the aroma, grapefruit, tangerine, light pine. Medium sweet flavour with notes of pale bread, more tangerine, grapefruit, mellow piney bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced in the finish, with some mild resin, pithy grapefruit and tangerine, further piney bitterness, mellow dank edge. Nice IPA.

Cask @ brewpub during RateBeer weekend, January 2016. Clear golden yellow appearance with a thin white head. Soft carbonation. Grassy and herbal with a little bit of cracker. Moderate high bitterness and moderately sweet. Ok.

phaleslu (10272) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 21, 2016
Draft at the brewpub, served in a flight. Pours a cloudy light gold with a small white head. Good hop complexity here, with notes of grass, herbs, lemon, florals, grapefruit, pine, a bit of rye spice, and pale and bready malts. Light-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a dry, bitter, but pretty clean mouthfeel. Nice IPA with a good hop profile.
