On Nitro Tap at Jolly Roger. Decent aroma and nitro made a gorgeous pour. Incredibly smooth and well-balanced. baobubba (454) - Starkville, Mississippi, USA - NOV 5, 2002
UPDATED: MAY 24, 2003 Really great roasted malt aroma, I am getting a bunch of toast with hints of chocolate and coffee... molasses in a round-about way. The flavor is moderately sweet with much of the bitterness being fairly balanced by the malts. A little smoke on the toasty finish. A fine porter from these landlubbers. Very good beer. JCW (1278) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 17, 2003
Pours dark with no head. Opaque. Fruity malty aroma. The taste is very coffee-ish with a fair amount of smokey flavors. Bitter, dry finish. Very good brew! mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 16, 2010
[3099-20100703] Nitro. Rich chocolate-infused roast malt aroma has some wood notes. Black body has a long-lasting creamy light tan head and some lacing. Woody rich chocolate-tinted roast flavour. Medium-full body. Good roast, quite pleasant to try.

This beer has a very sweet flavor to it, and a good thick look, somewhat like the dense head that froths off a Guiness. There isn’t much hop aroma, but there is a fairly strong bitter flavor that is offset by the sweetness of chocolate/coffee grain choices. A very fullfilling and robust beer with a lingering bitter aftertaste. Very nice! boto (2211) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - MAY 26, 2003
Draught: I had this at a Restauraunt in the Seattle area. The beer pours a good dark color. A fair, tan colored head. The aroma is fairly typical of a porter. There is some coffee, chocolate and roastiness to it. The taste is on the same lines of roastiness and chocolate. There is a bit of sweetness to it. A bit of bitterness in the after-taste. Overall, a decent brew! BillKismet (4057) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 4, 2003
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2007 Black with a thick chocolate head, this was quite a robust porter. Robust black malt aroma and flavor, though the taste was rather offkey, a combination of sharp cheese and smoke. Deep roast--great for cookouts. yespr (45412) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - MAR 9, 2012

A deep black nectar from the gods. This had flavor aroma and a deep rich coffee and dark malts falvor I loved. The beer was cold served in a great pint and the beer had flavor for the next few beers. A Great Porter. The richness was very good and finished the night perfect.
