On tap at Alt-Berliner Wirtshaus, Berlin. Pours dark brown/red with a thinning, frothy, beige head. The aroma contains roasted malt, yeast, hops and some iron. It tastes light sweet and light bitter. Thin body, watery texture. Could have used more alcohol. Underwhelming in taste. faroeviking (10821) - FAROE ISLANDS - APR 28, 2017

Tap. Some nice roast aromas of liquorice, caramel, a little nuts. Malt-forward for sure, but not overdone in that way. Light body, but not watery at all. Not overly complex either. Nice. gyllenbock (9096) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 8, 2016

On tap at Zur Leitzen Instanz restaurant in Berlin, Germany.
Opaque, dark rosewood brown with a tan head and good lacing.
Aroma of toasted wheat, caramel and roasted malt.
Taste of heavily roasted wheat, toast, mild sour milk, toasted nuts and caramel.
Medium/light body and medium/low carbonation. Lighter mouthfeel than desirable for the style.
Very roasty and slightly sweet. Nothing fancy or complex, but a most welcome alternative to a pils or Berliner weiss, which were the other choices.
