3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
from M&S Cookstown
Pales clear reddish brown with a fluffy beige head. Strong aroma of corriander with underlying licorice. Fairly thin in body with medium carbonation, lots of corriander and orange peel and fruity yeast esters. Thankfully the candysugar doesn’t make too big an appearance but the high spicing makes it a slow drinker. Its not too bad.
Bottle from M&S, Manchester. Very dark brown with a thin head. Includes some lovely smooth dark malts, although not high in any notable flavours, but a light sweetness. Beese (3064) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 6, 2014
Bottle from M&S, Watford. Poured a clear, dark brown, with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, rich fruit and and Belgian yeast esters. Dried fruit in the flavour, with a little cocoa and fruitcake. Finish was slightly dry with a little grassy hop, grain and raisins. allmyvinyl (10926) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 3, 2014
330ml bottle from M&S Edinburgh. Pours clear dark red-brown, short-lived beige head. Aromas of burnt sugar, light herbs, light metallic note and yeasty zing. Taste is more sugar and herbs. Thin on the palate and a sweet finish. OK. Burgers (344) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 23, 2014
Darkish brown with beige head. Aromas of chocolate and light hops. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter. Medium palate and body. Lively carbonation. jackafholmes (1021) - - MAY 11, 2014
Bottle, guess where from? Dark brown, with no head. Aroma is yeasty and fruity with liquorice and spice. Tastes quite sweet and with dark fruits and liquorice. Carbonation feels rather strange, has a fizz that doesn’t suit it.

deep dark brown/red colour with a tanned head that ends up quite thin. Smells sweet and floral much like the taste with very slight bitterness it’s long and lingers a bit and almost cola like. Bit fruity as well. cgarvieuk (25686) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 20, 2013
bottle at home ... dark brown ... thin tan head .. soft sweet dark malt nose ... soft toffee roast ... dark malts... light yeast ...d ark sugers ... very one dimensional... john_henry (124) - - AUG 30, 2013
I have to say I was expecting more from this. I quite like Du Bocq’s saisons which there known for, but this is a little thin, quite tasteless, and overall in my eyes a pretty average beer. leaparsons (10696) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 30, 2013
Bottle. Dark brown and red with a diminishing foam. Aromas are chocolate and molasses with brown sugar. Earthy with dark berries and herbal notes. Flavours are herbal with chocolate and Weetabix malts. Berries with low roast notes and spices. Decent but very much standard. imdownthepub (15129) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 24, 2013
Bottled 330ml from M&S, Banbury. Chestnut with short lived off white head. This seemed to go flat quite quickly, it is really quite sweet and still, ripe berries, blackberry with a background of toffee, butterscotch. Slightly thick on the palate. Ok.
