GoufCustom (1705) - HONG KONG - DEC 27, 2014

330ml bottle bought at M&S Food Store in SoHo, Central.

Cloudy, hazy ruby pinkish red colour with a thick hard rim of yeast sediementsThree-quarter finger head with pink foam which last for 1 minute; Excellent sticky lacing and zero carbonation; Fragrant aroma of light malt, with strong cherry juice and fruit, red wine, light rhubarb, sugar, faint coriander and faint grass; Medium sweet taste of light malt, with moderate wheatyness, strong sour cherry, light sugar, coriander, yeast, light spices, lemon and very light grassy hops; Mid to light body, slightly slick and juicy palate; Mouth feel is overwhelming sour cherry onto a moderate Belgian white beer base - wheaty tartness cant be felt, but fleshy and juicy Belgian sour cherry is everywhere. Natural sans-sugar sweetness gives some good balance to cherry sourness. Light coriander, yeast and lemony hops round up the taste. Pretty good for a fruit beerHoppiness is faint grass in nose, lemon and very light grass in taste. No bitterness, just sour and sweet fruity cherry finish; Slightly dry after taste. Very easy and fruity to mouth.

Comments: Lots of nice Kriek-type cherry in this one, and its fruity taste is natural with nice sweet balance. Thick yet refreshing, I like this Belgian White cum fruit beer a lot. Will buy again!

Bottle - hazy cerise with a foamy pink head that eventually fades to a ring. Aroma of wheat, coriander seed, grass and sour cherry. Taste of sherbet, sour cherry, a little hay and yeast and a touch of sourness. Medium body, low carbonation. Pleasant.

330ml bottle from M&S at the Gyle, Edinburgh. Pours like beetroot juice, cloudy pink-purple, pink frothy head. Big sour cherry aromas, light sherbet note. Taste is light black-cherry-yoghurt sour, than a massive chalky sweet kick. Not bad body for the strength.

330ml bottle from M&S - Pink to Purple body, frothy pink head, loads of carbonation. Nose has the cherry in abundance, a bit plastic mind you. Taste is sour cherries, but nothing much else. All a bit confectionery for me, nice enough, but missing something.

330ml bottle from M&S. Colour is pinky purple, with a dirty pink head. Aroma has cherry, and so does the taste, and its not a fake metalic cherry. Really nice.

Dark red with pink head. Taste of candy, sugar, cherry lemonade. Very sweet. Medium bodied, sticky and slightly creamy. Not bad if it was a lemonade or dissolved candy.

Appearance: Hazy cherry red, bubbles on pour but no head. Aroma: Cherry, blossom honey, bready note, marzipan. Taste: Medium sour and sweetness with low bitterness. Palate: Thin coarse texture, light body, prickly carbonation, lingering cherry, marzipan finish after a slight honey and sherberty note. Comments: Very good.

Douberd (5027) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2014
Bottle at home, 330 ml, poured into a tulip. ABV 3.5% Pours an intense red coloured beer, with a small and thin pink head, with average retention, leaving light lacing around the glass. Clear and transparent body. Aroma of cherries, not as artificial as I was afraid of, rose petals. Taste is sweet, cherry flavoured like certain soft drinks and/or sweets, but again more natural tasting an actually not bad. Thin body, average carbonation, sticky on the palate. Overall more than okay for this sort of beer.

Bierr wat sprekend lijkt op cassis. Zoetig met een zuurtje van de kers maar niet overheersend. Mooie roze kraag. Meer frisdrank dan bier
