Lovely sweet lychee from the citra hop with a touch of resin in the finish. Not overhopped and goes down very easily. Nice!

Catching up on notes made while I was on holiday in the land of no internet.

This was a can on the train home. What can I say? It's Citra. Refreshing citric notes, sweet malt. It hews closely to the modern west coast style.

Can. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt, spices, hops, and citrus fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, hops, spices, and citrus fruits, leading to a bitter finish.

Can in Oxford. Bitter citra. Clean citrus IPA hop. Bitter English malt body. Alright. Ok hop character. Fair use of citra in English pale ale. Ok.

Drunk at home in a glass from a can. Brought from Marks and Spencer's. Fairly unremarkable but easy drinking and pleasure enough ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml can from M&S, Watford. Very nice, and full of citra hop aroma and flavour. Crisp and fresh flavour. Very drinkable.

500ml bottle from M&S (£2.50):

Surprisingly good stuff for what is essentially a supermarket beer, albeit one that’s from Oakham Ales. The beer is quite enjoyable from the start, the strong citrus flavours & bitter hops kick things off well & the beer manages to hold its own until the end with some earthy hops & a few pale malts showing at times. It’s not quite good as Oakham Citra from the same brewery but it was an enjoyable one that went down better than I’d expected.

Pours golden with a good white head.
Citrus and some metallic tones in the nose, although not offensive.
Citrus and malt with a little pine. Finishes with limited bitterness.
Not bad.

Bottle from M&S. Small, white head, yellow/golden colour, clear. Aroma of citrus, lemon, grass. Bitter taste, light body, long finish, average carbonation. Quite a nice aroma, but flat bitter taste.

Bottle. Pours pale golden mature IPA with a thin white foam residing thinly. Scent is light IPA and notes of lovely oak cask. Honey, citrus, about 50 IBU of mostly early hops, possibly brown sugar. Finish is smooth. Very good IPA.
