500ml Bottle: BBD 06/2014. A Marks and Spencer beer, opened on 3rd March 2014 and poured into my Abbot Ale glass tankard. Bottled Conditioned.
No sediment left my bottle, so I got a clear amber body with a good, deep, full, off-white foaming head in my tankard.
Nutty, woody, twiggy nose, with a clean malty base in a bleached muslin sack.
The taste follows the aroma: woody, earthy and malty, but with a sterile bent (see bleached muslin above). Bitter finish to a strange ’clinical’ flavoured malty brew. Who ever over-saw the bottle cleaning didn’t wash out mine too well because the whole tasting seemed to be overshadowed by some sort of cleansing compound.
Anyone else thought it tasted ’clinical’? Bosbouw (2925) - Gemonde, NETHERLANDS - FEB 26, 2014
