Tap. Pours a clear dark amber body with a minimal fizzy off-white head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is a bit light on the smoke, at least for this smokehead. What’s there is pretty nice, campfire and bacon suggestions. Some sweet burnt caramel as well as some light roast. The flavor is pretty decent, but again, a little light on the smoke for my preference in the style. Finishes with some lightly husky and grainy maltiness. Medium bodied with fizzy prickly carbonation. Not bad, but if they kicked up the smoke and dry this up a bit it would be pretty good. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear brown-orange with a thin white head. Aroma of smoked malts, smoked meats. Flavor of peat and smoke, less meaty and mostly smoke. A pretty decent smoked lager though it’s a pretty basic representation of the style.
