COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Belgian Style Wheat Beer, this White Ale or Wit, is spiced with Whole Coriander Seed, Bitter Orange Peel, and pounds of Mandarin Oranges. Light in color and body, this hazy beer has a wonderful fruity aroma from the spices and yeast still left in the beer. A perfect summer beer, but great year round as well. Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a hazy yellow-apricot color with a small creamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was dryish, bitter and somewhat vegetal and perfumey. The flavor was dry, bready and had an element of rotting vegetables followed by perfume and hints of must and coriander. Medium length dry and musty finish. Medium body. Not good.

Draft at brewpub. Pours orange with a thin white head. Nose is what I can only assume to be coriander cause I’m not getting much orange. I’m not getting any real orange on the tongue either. Tastes a like a beer with part of its soul missing.

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold body with a minimal white head. The nose is spot on, very nice balance between the coriander, orange peel, and wheat. The flavor is quite good as well, it doesn’t come across as over spiced like many Wits. Orange peel and coriander softened nicely on the finish with a light yeastiness and clean wheat base. Light bodied and quite refreshing with nice lively carbonation. Today isn’t the best day to enjoy this, but it is very well done. My enjoyment of this would increase greatly with a 50 degree increase in temp outside! Really well done beer all the same.
