3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A - Pours a light orange/amber color. Slightly hazed with a brief 1 finger head.
S - Grainy, wet straw, woody, lots of lager yeast,
T - Earthy and grainy dryness upfront, hops are grassy and spicy, sweetness slowly creeps in with notes of toasted caramel. Finishes dry and spicy with hints of orange peel.
M - Medium body, good carbonation, dry.
Great tasting beer but the malt struggles to shine. Nice hop profile and good carbonation.

Pours a deep bronze color. Hazy with about two finger beige head. Nice lacing. Head reduces to thin layer with chunks of head. Weird.radio_nowhere (1472) - Maryland, USA - SEP 17, 2014
Aroma is roasted malts, and toffee. I also smell the alcohol.
Taste is more bitter than moost marzens. It’s malty, but not too sweet. I also taste the alcohol. It’s way too watery.
Mouthfeel is medium. It’s pretty dry. It’s watery. It’s too bitter for the style. It’s sorta astringent on the finish.
Overall, it’s under-whelming. It’s not terrible, but it’s not a good representation of the style. It might be okay as an amber ale. I wouldn’t suggest this at all.
Draft at Frank and Lola’s in Bartlesville, OK. Served in a pint glass, clear orangy-copper color with off-white head. Aroma of bread, light caramel and some fruitiness. Taste added notes of roast, nuttiness and some grass. Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp with sweet clean finish. Straightforward marzen if not on the light side. deyholla (11609) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 7, 2014
Bottle. Pours a clear orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of bread notes with some wet grains and a hint of earthiness. Flavor is lighter with some light grains, a good amount of bread and a hint of biscuit/straw. OmegaX (1374) - Florida, USA - OCT 30, 2013
Bottle thanks to Ksurkin. Aroma is light caramel, stale hops, some bread. Caramel color. Flavor is just lacking a bit. It’s decent with some bready caramel notes in there. Chipalsa (1310) - Florida, USA - OCT 29, 2013
This was a great American-style marzen. The taste followed the aroma with deep bready malts and a semi-sweet toffee undertone.

12 oz. bottle, which was an extra from OKBeerFan. Thanks! To stein, it pours a copper orange with a sudsy, trim off-white head barely 1 fingernail in length. Aromas straightaway of wheat bread, Vienna malt, German noble hops, cornmeal, and faint unripe raspberries. Tastes the same. Better than expected. BOSSbrewer (2705) - Arkansas, USA - OCT 22, 2013
Pours a hazy amber with a nice off white head. Aroma is caramel with sweet malt. Also some nuttiness. Medium bodied and fairly sweet. Nice easy drinking beer. Onionkid (376) - Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA - SEP 25, 2013
Bottle. Spice and malt aroma. The taste is the same, very watery, very bland. Pretty decent, but bland. 6% alcohol. Stevesie (336) - - MAR 30, 2013
From bottle. About six months old, so freshness might be an issue. Pour is very nice, a rich copper with about a finger of off-white head and lots of activity. Nose is notably metallic, though not necessarily unpleasant. Taste is fairly nondescript. Nice body for a lager, however. Not my favorite Okto nor my favorite Marshall.
