Brown 500ml bottle best before 31 Dec 2008, drank Sep 2008.
Poured into a half pint tumbler a couple of times.
Large tan head at first, this soon shrank to a wisp and collar. The body of the beer was an old gold colour and dull, even when held up to the light.
Typical English beery smell of hops and barley malts, some mixed fruits as well (maybe).
A dry bitterness hits your mouth, it is both sharp and refreshing, this beer has a lot of character for a 3.8% bitter.
There was a malty aftertaste that held my attention for a while and it is full bodied and fairly interesting. Not bad at all.

Bottled, 500ml, pasteurised from Asda, Leamington Spa. Orange amber with white head. Tinny, metallic, caramel malt beer which apart from the carbonation seems to be processed to death. Not good. johndoughty (5521) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - JUN 24, 2009
Bottle. Golden and clear.Claims that it is full bodied on the label but it certainly isn’t.Thin with a trace of maltness. Like the England cricket team it fails to live up to expectations. leaparsons (10712) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - AUG 27, 2008
Bottle. Amber with an off white head. Aromas are spiced oranges with dusty, prickly notes. Bitter green woody hops. Flavours are sweet and sour oranges with lots of peppery and grapefruit pith bitterness. Has the usual Marstons caramel lingering. Not too bad. UPDATED: AUG 13, 2008 Typical dead boiled sweet aroma with hints of caramel, peardroppy fruit, wood, sulphur, and continental hops. Grassy sweetness, biscuit, cardboard and caramel. Quite full at 3.8%. A trace of orange fruitiness in there, but not nearly enough. Coloured water with an empty hop bitterness. Dead, but not nasty.
Gethinbeer (2452) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - AUG 9, 2008
Bottle. Aroma was bitter, malt, fruit and oranges. Zesty. Copper orange in colour with a thin head. Bitter flavour malt, also zest and citrus. A little tinny but overall the beer has a bitter sharpness to it which serves up to be refreshing. davegore (223) - liverpool, Merseyside, ENGLAND - AUG 7, 2008
dull amber, fluffy head, not much of an aroma, pretty dull actually. some citrus tang but quite watery in flavour and not really much mouthfeel berkshirejohn (6618) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2008
50cl bottle from Asda, Woodley. Amber with a thick white head; citrus and malt aroma with some Marston’s sulphur; taste is dominated by bitter hops but with an underlying caramel sweetness. Not a very subtle beer. Beth101 (531) - West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 4, 2008
Light caramel colour. Carbonated with a smell of citrus and hops. Bitter malty taste. scotty (1224) - SCOTLAND - JUL 6, 2008
Looks good, bronze/gold, good long lasting white head. Light nose, malt dominated, quite sweet with a fairly hoppy finish. Good stuff for a session.
