Old Empire is brewed using Optic malt, a subtle and paler grain that will allow other flavours to come through on the palate. Goldings and Fuggles hops are added to this brew, which is then late hopped with the American Cascade variety for extra hop strength.

50cl bottle from CityAlko, Arsenal Keskus. Pours clear amber with a decent, but short-lived off-white head. Mild fruity and grainy aroma with notes of honey and hints of citrus and caramel, Moderate to medium sweet with mild, but balanced flavours and a fine bitterness. Easy to drink and quite enjoyable.

Couleur legerement ambrée, petite mousse. Nez houblonné un peu fruité raisin. Gout houblonné fruité, gras, note d'herbes et zeste d'agrumes. Bon corps. Malgrés tout assez classique. Fin amere un peu raisin

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2017 Post Tenerife/Poland bottle at home. Pours golden Amber with white head nicely clear. Head clears quick but small slick remains. Biscuity malty sweet aroma. Strange that the sweetness hits you after the bitterness with incredible biscuity caramel depth. A very drinkable beer but nothing special.

India Pale Ale? Are they sure? This beer doesn't taste like an IPA, there isn't a hoppy taste :(

Color dorado, translúcido, con capa de espuma blanca de tres dedos de grosor (retención decente). Carbonatación media. Textura acuosa y ligeramente chispeante. Aroma a lúpulo floral, toques herbales. En boca lúpulo floral, grano y toques herbales. Amargor final suave. Más Bitter que IPA.

500ml bottle. Clear, copper colour with a thin white head. Mallet aroma, flavour is spiced fruit, dry finish. Ok

Piepenhenrich (1148) - Steinbach, GERMANY - SEP 3, 2017
Bitter or IPA? I am confused. However, it has these nice hoppy bitterness, that I like and which distinguishes it from the average Lagers and Ales.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2017 Cloth cap optional. It tastes like old men propping up the bar in a smoky 1970s local! Probably called The White Hart. Quintessentially English. 'Brewing the Future'? Nah, Marstons, keep brewing the past!

HopsDoctor83 (39) - Walsall, West Midlands, ENGLAND - SEP 1, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2017 Strong tasting bitter, surprisingly light in colour nice fruity citrus aroma. Moreish ....
