50cl bottle. Beer is dark brown, almost canít see through. The head is small and disappears quickly. Aroma is very delicate and light .... Mostly chocolate and dark fruits. The body is oily and creamy and the carbonation small. It has a quite pleasant mouthfeel. Taste is not super intensive. Mild with medium sweetness and delicate bitter finish. Nothing super interesting apart the hidden alcohol.

Second bottle purchased and another with an ill-fitting cap on the bottle. Poured flat with minimal head and the barest carbonation. Taste was strong-sweet, slightly sickly, typical strong ale, almost a barley wine but not as heady. Marstonís need to check their bottling process - I canít be the only person who has experienced two flat bottles in as many weeks. Disappointing.

From bottle pours very dark, almost like a porter and thing beige head. Aroma is strong sticky brown sugar, stewed fruits like plumb, dates and a tough of fig, with roasted nuts. Taste is strong sweet but nicely balanced by roasted malt and hoppy bitterness. A little watery yet sticky as far as texture goes. Overall pretty damn nice!

Bottle fom B&M Bargains. Pours deep chestnut with a thin cream head. Toasty malt aroma. The taste has light spice with a liquorice and aniseed giving it a bit of a cough syrup taste. Quite decent.

Pours opaque chestnut with a fair buff head. Malty and fruity aroma invites a taste. Fruity, malty, caramel flavor is quite pleasing. Mouthfeel presents firm body and good fizz. Rodger dodger, a good one.

Clear, dark red beer with a filmy head. Smell s of earthy malt but not much else. Taste is malty too but with rich fruit and some caramel there too. Really nice and hearty.

Bottle from Londis. Sort of an English bock. Quite nice but it lacks the complexity of something like Weltenburger Kloster Asam Bock.
