Bottle, 7.6%. Peppery and creamy aroma. Very dark brown colour, clear and with a chestnut shine. Good sweet flavour, quite peppery, quite malty. Very nice and actually well-balanced in spite of the strength. janir (216) - Oulu, FINLAND - OCT 12, 2008
Very deep and dark ruby brown color with very creamy and lacy light brown head. Aroma is sweet and roasty malty, syrupy and alcoholic. Flavor is very sweet malty with some roastiness, soft syrupy with very subtle bittery ending. Palate is medium to full-bodied, oily, sticky syrupy and low carbonated. Nice beer for a dessert. liinis (1775) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 10, 2008

Pours deep dark red with beige head. Malty aroma. Deep, rich, malty flavour. donfardz64 (538) - Wellington, New Zealand, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 27, 2008
Pours dark red , slightly transparent. Fizzy off white head which disappears quickly. Yeasty aroma, smells fruity and sweet from the alcohol. Feels very smooth in the mouth, alcohol is well hidden. Quite a fruity yet malty sweetness, feels amazing almost syrupy when you swallow. Strong flavours though so couldn’t drink too many.

Bottle.Dark and fruity with a strong presence of alcohol. Rich and fruity this is certainly an excellent winter warmer. taunusmies (378) - FINLAND - AUG 13, 2008
Pours dark ruby colour with a small head. Aroma is sweet, rich and malty, slightly roasted. Notes of flowers, hops, raisins, dark fruits, toffee and plums. Well balanced ale. Alcohol is incredibly well hidden in the taste, but reveals itself creating a nice warm feeling and going straight to the head. I really liked this one. bierkoning (13615) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JUL 31, 2008
Bottled. Deep dark brown color. Hint of salt in the aroma. Malt, salt and raisin in the flavor. Just a bit of flowery hops. Well balanced strong ale. Pyobon (1482) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUL 17, 2008
Bottle. Clear dark reddish brown with transient beige head. Subtle, but rich fruity aroma. Thick oily mouthfeel with light carbonation. Rich complex taste. Fruity (raisins, apples) sweet (dark toffee) start with moderately bitter finish dominated by burnt dark malt flavours. An awesome beer, but not an everyday beer.

Bottle. The colour of Hugh Heffners dressing gown, head went very quick. Alcohol hidden quite well and made for a quite drinkable ale. Nice enough, better than most Marstons imo. Cheers.
