Beesbeer (450) - WALES - DEC 2, 2012
Delicious, thick, fruity, raisons and plums, warm and winter wonderful. More Christmassy than plum pudding! Wonderful. McWorta (1633) - LUXEMBOURG - OCT 16, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 14, 2015 Rubin red and brown in colour. On the nose develop aromas of roasted malts, caramel and chocolate. Small fast fading toast coloured head. Bit fizzy, medium-full body. Medium sweet with a touch of bitterness. Finish is dry and nice. knickskicks (1168) - - SEP 5, 2012
Bottle. Dark brown, some ruby red hues; almost purplish. Beige head fizzles away quickly. Nose is barley, booze, and berries; port as it warms. Taste is berries, alcohol, fresh water, port, and cough syrup. The hop finish is very light and overshadowed by a sweet syrup taste. Medium mouthfeel. Could benefit from a little more body. olio (10601) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 25, 2012

Aroma has some raisins, cardboard and some moldy cellar. Flavour has some metal, moldy cellar, hints of raisins and sugar. Feels like most of the flavour bouquet is gone.
Easily the best tasting real ale I tried in my 2 trips to England and I tried quite a few. Fruity and smooth. I only wish it was available in Canada. There are a number of English real ales to be had here but none can come close. buggybill2003 (39) - - JUL 23, 2012
Real malty aroma, very little else really. lost its head very quickly which wasnt too much of a problem though. Pleasant tasting, although I found it a little overpowering if Im honest. Im glad I tried it, but wouldnt search it out again. Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 13, 2012
I have tried this before, but it was easily six years ago. It has to be said, my memory was hazy. Was this beer unmemorable or is it my memory that is seriously at fault? HopfenWeisse (1558) - - JUN 28, 2012
Dark looking beer that pours from the bottle with very little head. Tawny port tint to the dimple of the glass. The aromas are a little muted and I put this down to the cold I have. I was able to garner raisins, plums and berryfruit. It smells of fortified fruitcake. Upon tasting there is a sudden flush of carbonation and then those fruitcake flavours are manifest. This is full-bodied and rich. The finish is compromised by the common cold. I’l just have to revisit this in due course.
From old backlog. Dark brown colour with tiny head. Aroma is malt, sweet sma as taste.
