Bottled at Old Bank, Turku. Clear deep ruby, small head. Aroma of burnt caramel and alcohol. Swetwith medium body. Dense, rounded mouthfeel with sticky sweetness. There’s toffee and spun sugar but very little hops. Very mild but warming. The best Marston beer I’ve come across. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 8, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, dark, reddish brown with a light brown head. Aroma of sweetish, roasted malt and caramel. Fairly full and solid body with plenty of roasted malt and caramel notes. Not much bitterness to be detected. Not exactly refined but a fine winter warmer. 071006 madmitch76 (24789) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 9, 2011

Deep brown ale. Quite flat. Smooth toffee and caramel and treacle. No bitterness. Smooth dry finish.
A deep dark red in colour, with a light caramelly malt nose, but flavour is a bit clawing strong malt. Leighton (21232) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 10, 2013
Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, red-brown with a slender, beige foam head. Lots of dark berries and grapes in the aroma. Medium to big sweet flavor, mostly semi-ripe berries, grapes, plums, some rich bready malts, very light bitterness but really not much at all. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Very faint alcohol warmth to finish, some sticky and toasted sugars, hints of chocolate, more berries, grapes, cherries, plums, suggestions of toffee. I’m actually somewhat fond of this beer. It drinks pretty smoothly.
