Out of the bottle, poured a deep black, opaque with a persistent mocha head. I got aromas of chocolate, coffee, along with some salinity and some subtle dried fruit. You could call it silky, but the palate felt a bit thin/watery for my taste - I got repeats of chocolate, along with cola, and some lingering roast bitterness. Made for a really nice pairing with a molasses based desert, but not sure I would have enjoyed this as much on its own.

Bottle. Dark brown with medium tan head. Malty nose with some metal, chocolate. Metallic mouth with malt, chocolate, molasses. Sweet with light somewhat watery palate.

northropfrye (3401) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 23, 2016
Bottle. Dark brown body, brown head, some soapy lacing. Sweet malty dried fruit aroma, a touch of black markers, and anise. Taste is again quite sweet, but a somewhat watery finish and medium palate. An alright stout. Not too robust, and on the sweet side, but quaffable.

Big frothy brownish head with good retention. Clear dark brown colour with red hues. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted, some fruitiness, and coffee hints. Taste is medium dry roasted, with some coffee, cocoa and dark fruit notes. Sligthly salty but dry finish.

Bottle. BB 15 May 2017. Pours near pitch black with creamy head that retains and laces pretty nicely. The aroma is kinda like buttered up and burnt popcorn... Not good. Tastes... of mud water and old roasty malts. Week old burnt popcorn. With sugar. Near flat carbonation with a kind of late but moderate crispiness, dryish palate, light body. Pretty shitty stuff. Off-putting, could only down 1/4 of this... drainpour.

vinivini (1796) - BELARUS - OCT 2, 2016
Bottle. Deep brown to black, not transparent. Moderate tan head. Retention below average. Modest lacing. The faint aroma is chocolate, light metal, cacao bones. Light to medium body. Oily. Unusual Port wine notes for that ABV. Also chocolate, roasted malts. Tasty. Light bitterness. A little body hole in ending. Generally decent.

nephirem (414) - CROATIA - OCT 1, 2016
Bottle, 0.5l. Pours thick deep ruby, almost black body with small sized brown head. Smell is pleasant, caramel, toffee, a bit roasted with a hint of coffee. Light body with creamy texture, highly carbonated. Taste is bittersweet, slightly watery. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, toffee, licorice. Not bad, but lacking a bit in terms of coffee and chocolate flavours so it feels somewhat empty. Finish is long and slightly bitter and metallic. As the beer warms up, the metallic taste becomes quite overwhelming and this pretty much ruins this one for me. Overall, mediocre attempt.

Bottle at Borrowdale Youth Hostel. Black with a thick beige head. Too fizzy. Fruity with plenty of chocolate. Sweet. Nice pudding beer but the finish is rather short.

Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma and flavour are roasted malts,† coffee and chocolate. Lighter body than expected and a bit oily. Didnít know what to expect from this beer. In truth, I was worried it was going to taste fishy, but itís not bad at all.

phfyysik (1142) - Tartu, ESTONIA - SEP 25, 2016
Pours black with medium beige head. Aroma is light, raisins, light caramel, old hay, some toast. Taste is fruity, creamy, sweetness, brown sugar, syrup, watery. Light and artificially sweet. Not for me.
