Ar: Light coffee, some sweet corn and caramel. Ap: Chestnut brown and clear - large light mocha head with good retention and a thick cap. T: Toffee and coffee up front - biscuit and bread notes, with some toasty and caramel flavor - mild bitterness, some char on the finish. P: Medium body with medium carbonation - finish is dry. O: Easy-drinking stout - not a "wow" beer, but tasty and satisfying.

La birra Oyster Stout è una birra dal colore marrone scuro, ottenuta con il metodo dell’alta fermentazione. Offre agli intenditori un gusto leggermente amaro, a cui si uniscono delle note piacevolmente fruttate. Durante la degustazione è possibile avvertire un aroma di orzo tostato. La schiuma prodotta è abbondante, dotata di buona compattezza. Tra le peculiarità della ditta produttrice Marston, Thompson & Eversheld c’è l’impiego del sistema tradizionale Burton Union System, che prevede che la birra fermenti in botti che hanno una caratteristica davvero singolare: sono comunicanti fra loro.

500 mml bottle. Tasted on the 01/07/2017. Dark black colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of liquorice, chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Taste is roasty and black and intense coffee beans. Next one please!

Bottle, as Pearl Jet Stout. Black pour, small light tan head. Burnt dark malts, burnt grain, coffee tin, some chocolate wrapping. Taste has some bit of chocolate and espresso in the front, not too rough, then it gets quite dry, with deep dark malts, burnt, but not smokey, with a light acidity/astringency to it, but subtle. Low to mild English hop bitterness. Body’s light, somewhat velvety, but it could be smoother. Low carbonation. A nice, traditional rendering of the style.

From 500ml bottle. Pours dark, almost black with a latte coloured head initially. Aroma is of dried fruits and malt. Raisins and malt bread with a bit of a tang, almost a bitter finish. Medium body, but goes a bit flat towards the end. Still, a decent effort.

500 ml bottle. Black to dark brown, cappuccino-coloured head. Looks impressive. Cocoa, smoked malt, dried fruits and nuts. Malty, not bitter, smoky and a bit sweet. Smooth. Flat carbonated, medium bodied. Creamy texture. Not bad.
