Can. Clear golden color with a white creamy head. Aroma of bready malts, grains and hay. Light malty sweetness, a bit grainy and grassy. Light-medium bodied, well carbonated. Pretty standard Euro pils.

Bottle 25cl. Clear light golden color, two finger white foamy head, recedes slowly, sticky lacing; aroma light sweet malts, grain, weak hop notes; taste of sweet grainy malt and mild bitterness; light to medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; lingering mild bitter finish.

Bottle thanks to Brian. Listed as Belgian Pilsner. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A light fruity nose, Pils malt. Light yeast flavor, Pils malts, some oranges. Pretty light. Good with the Tepache.

Use to get this in a 4-pack at the LCBO, but now available in singles. Pours a clean light-golden colour with a big frothy white head, good retention and lots of soapy lace. Smells nice at first pour with the Pils grassy nose and hints of fruits, but a little after, the rusty hop aromas appear (that I am not a fan of). The taste is watery with some sweet malts and wet metallic water. Was much better when I had from the can, but when poured into a glass... on this one you can pass.

Can, 158 yen from Yamaya served in a half-pint glass. It pours a pale light gold with a huge fizzy white head that leaves decent lacing. Too pale in color for me. A soapy, herbal & grassy aroma. Light-medium body oily mouthfeel, with a sweet, sugary, grain, soapy taste at first which then finishes on a slightly bitter finish. Am not a fan of that soapy flavor.

Extremely pale yellow with a coarse frothy head. Light citrussy aroma of bugger-all matched by the flimsy bugger-all flavour.

Well, you cant knock this one on appearance. A mushroom of white lifts up a good inch from the rim of the glass and holds there, needing a palette knife to remove it. Highly effervescent it dances in the glass; a shimmering yellow gold in colour. Sweaty armpit nose, rather dank and uninviting with a hint of metal shards, cabbage broth and stagnant water. A much cleaner offering flavour-wise. Light, dusty malt mid-palate with a grainy sweetness to the front and a weedy, peppery hop finish. Soapy in mouthfeel but featherweight so no real harm there. Ends crisp and clean with a lasting bitterness on the tongue. Balanced, light and refreshing, but not exactly a characterful number. Not too shabby! (50cL can, BB 05/10/14, Dan Murphys Currambine)
