Beautiful rocky foam head. Nose is basic macro pils. In the mouth it has a touch more going for it - straw, honey, and a solid light bitter floral finish. Nothing special but for 160 yen a can, damn good value. Christos (5883) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - NOV 19, 2012
I am pretty sure this is the same with the Martens Pilsener, on my bottle says Pilsener and ABV is 5%
I bought this in the Netherlands and it doesn’t say anywhere that it is imported, also everything on the bottle is written in Dutch.Bottle is also different, the usual dutch beer bottle. Anyway.
Second beer I buy this week and its appearance (of the bottle) looks so fake, like someone made a fake label and glued it on the bottle of another brand. . When poured it produced a golden yellow coloured beer, with a two finger soapy head, with very good retention though. Lots of bubbles rising to the top too.
Aroma is of malts and hay.
Taste is slight bitter, with some corn traces and also sort of metallic.
Medium thickness on the body and very carbonated.
Overall, an average pilsener and with that bottle’s appearance, not so attractive too. DruncanVeasey (8260) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 6, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2012 500ml can in Cyprus supped out of dinky little glass toothbrush holder- a handy sampling measure. Beer of the trip. Nose instantly fruitier than any of the Portuguese/ German/ Swedish/ Danish/ Romanian/ occasionally Cypriot crap I’ve been forced to drink this week; orange and lemon winegums, chopped herbs and honey, (impression of) ground coriander seed, Belgian yeast. The only beer whose aroma has made me want to drink it this week. Bright, fizzless with a low, fine head. Oddly, pleasantly fruity taste recalling the coriander in the aroma but it’s all yeast, hop, ’céréales non maltées’. A little yeast, wheat and Belgian devilry goes a long, long way when stranded in the desert, believe me. No adjunct or off flavours discernible; just a light, vaguely grassy winegum and coriander-accented wheatiness. Bad pils but not a bad beer; something like a tripel shandy, actually. 16.9 oz can. Clear golden color. Thin white head. Bubbles on the side of the glass. Kind of a basic, bready, lagery, skunky aroma. A lot of skunk. Light sweet, light bitter taste. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Fine, OK texture. Pretty mediocre pils. Not very good, disappointing. Not easy to drink. Some orange, mostly a sweet flavor. Didn’t finish the last 1/3.

Bottle, bought @ Belgian Beer Station.kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 28, 2012
Clear golden (with some floaties). Small, creamy, white head. Aroma has sweet maize, citrus, corn, malts. Highish carbonation, very thin mouthfeel. Flavour is limited, citrus, watery, minerals, sweet corn. Quite bland.

0.5L. can sample at an anti-facist march in Tel Aviv. Thanks Ambar for sharing. Drank straight from can so metal was dominant in the aroma, taste and aftertaste. Other than that, grainy aroma, lagerish bitterness, light body and lively carbonation. thanatosti (1772) - Culemborg, NETHERLANDS - MAY 23, 2012
30 cl. bottle @ home. Golden yellow with a white head. Grassy smell. Surprisingly strong bitter taste. Slightly metallic taste but certainly not bad for a budget pilsener. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 14, 2012
Can from the LCBO. Light golden colour with a slight haze and white layer on top that is too thin and scummy looking to call a "head". Aroma of sweet and cheap lager - dirty malt, bit of corn, anemic hops - with more booze in the background than I should be getting from a 5% beer. Body is actually not bad, at least while it’s cold - fairly crisp and palate cleansing - but once it warms, it starts to get sticky. Flavour is pretty much what the aroma promises - too-sweet malt, hops that are paradoxically barely there and harsh in the throat, and a finish reminiscent of creamed corn. In a word: Yuck.
