The brewers at Martin House were honored to work directly with the Toadies to develop a recipe that suited us both perfectly. More than anything, we wanted it to be a beer that the band would want to drink while they played music. We sat down with the band and tasted several beers together. They loved the hop flavor in the Imperial Texan, so thats where we started with this recipe. We wanted something lower in alcohol so it could be enjoyed from the opening act until the epic Toadies encore. We built the recipe with caramel and Munich malts to give the beer a solid malty flavor, a bold red color, and 5% alcohol. We went easy on the bittering hops and heavy on the flavor hops to give it just the right amount tropical fruit and piney flavor. Lastly, we serenaded the yeast with non-stop Toadies music to give it just hint of Rock n Roll. This is how the official beer of the Toadies, Rubberneck Red, was born. Its an easy-drinking, refreshing beer with enough flavor to get excited about.

A newer style red ale in that its a bit more hopped. Nice cirtus aromas, with hints of pine and caramel malts come in a little muted. Mid rusty red body, thin off white cap that leaves some small lace rings. Mouthfeel is medium with a slight stickiness. Flavors are nicely balanced between the citrus/ piney hops and the caramel/slightly toasted malts, which make a bigger impression than in the smell. Overall its nicely balanced and easy to drink, worth a try.

Poured an amber color from the can with aromas of malt, light caramel, grapefruit, and some bread. Flavors followed suit, light hops, and bready malt, decent red overall.

Red pour with an off-white head. The aroma has some strong red malt notes as well as some toffee, grass and a hint of dirt. The flavor is more of the same. I get some light pine from the hops as well as some strong toffee and earth notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

From the 16oz. can: Beer pours reddish amber color with a retained beige colored head. Aromas of grapefruit, bread, and hay. Taste is initially bitter finishing with some light sweetness. A solid beer from an ascending brewery.

Hazy red-amber with a lightly lacing, bubbly, cream colored head. Aroma of peach, caramel, and toast. Taste is mildly bitter with semi-sweet malts and really slight fruity flavors. Medium bodied, average carbonation. I love Toadies!...more than this beer, but that doesnt mean its bad.

Pours clear dark Amber red colored. Smell is malt, smooth slightly toasty caramel. Taste is malt driven but balanced and not sweet tasting. Balanced toasty malt, caramel, lightly bitter hoppiness. Not bad at all and better than I expected.

A pleasure to drink this one with my buddy Ryan. Aroma of dull peach, caramel apple, and malts. Pours deep amber with a nice white head. Taste is apricot, juicy grapefruit, and caramel malt. Nice malty body but clean and dry. Great sipping amber just nothing exciting going on. Would be happy to chug these with other Toadies lovers.
