Bottle. Caramel aroma. Dark copper, lacing head. Roast and light butterscotch, a few christmassy spices, roast retronasal. Medium body. Pleasant winter brew. PsychoGunnar (201) - Bergen, NORWAY - OCT 12, 2014
Dark red brown, clear with a nice creamy yellow foam. Weak smell, not much taste; the taste that is there is very much malty. Associations to gluhwein, vanilla and malt blocks. TheBeerGod (6221) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - APR 29, 2006
Bottle at Delirium Cafe’s winter beer "clearance". Amber body. Small white head. Nose is grassy and very malty with notes of whole grain bread. Taste is bready, malty with light caramel, grass and a hint of iced tea. Body is medium with a light carbonation feel. Finishes with more malt notes, breadiness, light grassy notes and caramel. rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 11, 2006
(Druaght at The Rover, Gothenburg) Golden/orange color, nice white head. Nutty aroma with some mushrooms...(!). Nuts in flavor too, some hops and with a quite nice malty finish.
Quack-Duck (9484) - Down South, GERMANY - JAN 18, 2010
bottle (Danke pivnizub!). Clear amber-brown colour, large off-white head. Malty nose. Malty, slightly hoppy with hints of caramel and honey. Very mild, otherwise quite pleasant. shrubber85 (11402) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JAN 30, 2010
Bottle. Sweet toffee malt and grassy hops aroma. Clear amber color with large head. Sweet toffee malt flavor with a light hops finish. Decent beer but pretty average - nothing to make it stand out. BeerViking (4783) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2013
Bottle, pours amber-brown with a big fluffy but fast-settling head. An amber lager with that burnt caramel note that seems to be traditional with many (thought not all) German winterbiers now, the nose has toffee and faint hints of peach, the body is too gassy but otherwise farly full, with toffee malt notes, that burnt edge and a light but noticeable hoppy bitterness. Like a sweet and roasty bottled English bitter, unsophisticated but quaffable. MoritzF (9901) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - FEB 24, 2008
(bottle) Clear, amber colour with a fluffy light-beige and lacey foamy head. Slightly dusty, sweet toast- and cara-malty nose with a shy spicy hoppy touch. Sweet flavour, light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Toast-malty, slightly caramelly taste with notes of marzipan; sweet and slightly bitter, toasty malty finish, also pretty short. Rather average but pretty drinkable (23.02.08). pivnizub (10616) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAR 8, 2008
Bottle:Toasted-malty nose with traces of pale malt and grassy hops; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; discreet fruitiness in the pale-malty, but also light sweet and toasted finish. A decent one........
