330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Mid red, small head. Fruity hops and honey aroma, quite pleasant. Touch of glue briefly, and a hint of alcohol later. Rich malty body, a touch sticky, but that makes it fuller. Sweet dark fruits too, nice burnt edge. Nice little bite of hops too. Wasn’t expecting much from what’s in theory a a simple beer, but this was as good as many dubbels for its maltiness. Don’t drink cold, certainly better at 15C-ish.

Bontus (800) - Flanders, BELGIUM - MAR 26, 2009
Bottle @ "einde der beschaving" Gent. Pours golden bronze with a white head. Sticky bitter beer actually. Malty honey aroma’s. Very nasal dry bitter. Tongue thinks otherwise as in more sticky and lively. A bit sweet and boring but not bad at all.

pivnizub (10618) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - MAR 11, 2009
Bottle: Light amber coloured, visible carbonation, stable small creamy layer; sweetish fruity-malty nose with a nutty tinge and a faint touch of spicy hops; light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; slightly lingering sweetish-bitter finish. Not bad, but a bit too sweet..........

liinis (1770) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 3, 2009
very good ale. Delicious hops. good color and a good white foamy head. Smoky bar Oldenburg in Madrid: no idea of the aroma.

3.4
KyotoLefty (10264) - Kyoto, JAPAN - FEB 1, 2009
Dark Amber color. Medium head. Good hoppy aroma with lots of fruit and decent malt as well. Rather sweet flavor, more than usual for the type. Good fruit and hops as well, though. A touch of honey and a bit nutty too. Not as dry as the good English types. Some citrus as well. Good hop finish, quite bitter. Really good, though a touch below the top stuff.
