Tap. Pours black with a medium, creamy tan head, medium retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is roast, chocolate and coffee malt, plums, raisins, and licorice with smoke and peat notes, and earthy hops. Sample at the brewpub. Black pour with a medium light brown head. Creamy oatmeal nose with dry roast and some dark fruit notes. Flavor is dark fruit up front with a bit of sweetness, transitioning to a bone dry roasty finish. Nice complex stout.

Deep black pour. Creamy tight tan head. The nose is intensely chocolatey with a lovely light earthy cocoa flavour. A touch of light savoury character. Sampled at beer night at the Coney. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and butterscotch. It is a complete black hole by the looks. THe flavor is creamy coffee caramel latte with a little molasses and some fruity characteristics. A decent thick body. UPDATED: JUN 23, 2007 Roasted bitter coffee, milk chocolate, and light hops. Sweet and malty aroma. Dark brown-black with off-tan head. Medium watery body with smooth carbonation. Starts with light sweetness and medium acidity. Finish is sour bitter, roasty, with nice notes of chocolate and bitter roast coffee. Nicely hopped. After is medium bitter. A nice dry stout.
