Draft at Allison Park. Pours black with a quickly dissipating head. Faint aroma of dark roasted malts. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Flavor of dark roasted malts, molasses, and old coffee. Finish is dry, slightly thin, with a small hint of tangyness. Rather simple, but not offensive by any means. The assistant brewer was screwing around and filtered some through some coffee grounds, turning it into a fresh breakfast stout. It brought some over for me to dry and it was rather interesting. taffurs888 (124) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 18, 2009
From a sampler.....nice aroma of coffee and dry roast. Slight hint of chocolate. NIce warm taste of vanilla. Thin body. Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - OCT 17, 2011
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a very deep brown colored body with a thin, creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is sweeter roasts with some dark chocolate, a touch of licorice, and a good amount of coffee. Some oatmeal and a bit of a lactose sweetness with a few dark fruits as well. Flavor is similar. Lots of coffee and roasts up front with a bit of a lactose sweetness and some chocolate and oatmeal with a few dark fruits. Finishes dry with some roasts and a light bitterness as well as some lactose and chocolate sweetness. Fairly lengthy aftertaste following a medium-light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty solid stout. Flavorful and well balanced. Not bad at all. nasmith003 (252) - Virginia, USA - AUG 9, 2014
