COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Deville is copper in colour with clean, biscuity European malts. An evident but not overpowering smoky, almost bacon-like flavour will take you back to another time.

Hazy blond-tan, thin white head. Aroma is light, with hints of smoke. Soft and oily palate, with gentle smoke. The malt balance is a bit sticky and maybe even plasticy.

Tasting @ Cellarbrations Carlisle Carpark Brewday.
Bright, orange amber with a loose head of fluff. Subtle aroma harbours hints of smoked meats, granola and spicy rye bread, stonefruit, and a touch of anchovies out of leftfield. Pleasantly malty on the palate with an ever present rauch malt background. Esters of peach and nectarine add a juicy sweetness to it whilst a peppery finish gives way to a long smoky aftertaste. Quite light in body and racy in mouthfeel with enough going on to keep it interesting. This was deliciously refreshing. A superbly balanced session ale. Good stuff!!

On tap. Pours a nice golden amber with small white head. Aromas of smoke ham and some grain. Flavours of sweet grain with just a hint of the smoke in support. Taste doesnt quite live up to the the aroma but nice all the same. Medium mouthfeel

Tried back in Sept 11. Clear bronze body with mainly lasting head. Ham/bacon flavours in the taste with some ash in the malty aroma. Was called De ville Smokey Ale.

On tap at Biero. Nice and complex. Aromas of smoke, caramel, apple, and grain. Taste is sweet, with light sourness, and long length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a thin head.
