edpeg (906) - Berlin, GERMANY - MAY 30, 2012
PET plastic bottle 0,5l. Pours pale yellow clear body with white medium rocky head. Aromas include citrus, hops, malts, grains. Texture is watery, crispy, with medium lively fizzy carbonation and mouthfeel. Taste is mild, balanced and malty. Finish is slightly floral, citrusy hoppy, hints of dryness. For price and quality very good. No off-flavours etc. Better than normal Maternus pils.

ganache (6050) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 22, 2012
Bought each of these half-liter Maternus beers from an Aldi for €0,29 plus a €0,25 deposit - it’s a first for me that the deposit almost exceeded the list price. Plastic bottle with a plastic screw cap, pissy pale golden, tiny white head. Nose is lightly grain but not sweet, lightly grassy and stale. Medium body is flattish, surprisingly dry with just a touch of rubbery bitterness coming on at the end. Surprisingly good hops for a German lager, burps remind me of some of Victory’s pales. Perfectly suitable choice for camping or sporting (because of the container), mild and inoffensive. Had to up the rating, I would totally buy this in volume.

Kavu (5125) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 5, 2011
Pours clear golden with a high head. Light aroma of malts, well balanced flavor of malts. Surprisingly a bit better than the normal pils.

Koelschtrinker (21489) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - JUN 11, 2011
Test vom 8.6.2006, Gebinde: PET Noten: 6,9,9,9,6,9 - 8,55

Hansen (8615) - Assentoft, DENMARK - MAR 10, 2011
Yellow and clear. Has a white head, mostly diminishing. Aorma is malty, sweet, grain, faint hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet, finish moderate bitter. Watery, dry texture. Soft carbonation.

Jonb5 (568) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 7, 2011
Light colour, clear, a bit of foam on the top. Industrial lager smell, also some hops. Bitter sweet taste, earthy, grassy. Lots of carbonation, not particulary smooth but ok. For 30 cents a half litre bottle you can’t expect a top quality brew but there are worse beers out there selling for a lot more

eyes_wide_shut (112) - Haifa, ISRAEL - AUG 14, 2010
At a tasting, thanks Zvikar, Plastic bottle sample, the beer had an unpleasant smell and no character nor singularity.

DSG (15237) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - AUG 1, 2010
Plastic bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks zvikar. Clear pale golden. Weak grainy aroma with some acetaldehyde. Weird sweet husky flavor, chemical and grainy with sour green apples. Light-bodied. Pretty offensive.

YK23 (465) - Haifa, ISRAEL - JUL 31, 2010
At a tasting: stale toast with faint stale coffee notes, watery, blend, it’s really bad.

tomer (3736) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - JUL 31, 2010
At a tasting, thanks Zvikar, small head, clear and a little pale yellow colour, stinky aroma, coarse and quite unpleasant bitterness, no lasting impression, i would call this strong ("Imperial") soda water.
