651mL thanks to DedicatedToFun. Pours a clear, deep cola. Low foam. Nose is ash, mildew, beef jerky, spicy beef, sugary herbal tea. Odd combo. Taste is soil, ash, dirt, cola. Metallic, watery palate. Odd. Yorker (2007) - Herning, DENMARK - AUG 7, 2013
65 cl bottle @ home. Pours dark brown with a tiny off-white head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is herbs, roasted malt, liquorice, coffee, and dried fruits. Flavour is much like the aroma – with a dry finish. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - JUL 31, 2013
On draft at Mateveza in SF. It pours brown with a khaki head. The aroma is roasted with dry notes of cocoa. The flavor is clean and toasty with big cocoa notes. Good finish. caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JUN 12, 2013
Bottled. Dark color, short head. Aroma of roasted malts, some strange coffee or ice tea, hint of citrus. Slight bitter taste. I dont know this Mate stuff, so I was looking for something I have no clue about. For the rest, it was ok. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JUN 11, 2013
Bottle @ 2nd tuesday tasting. Aroma is herbal and spicy with some metal and a coffee like note, mate? Flavour is spicy, roasty, some metal and some thing weird. Weird stuff that mate.

Bottle at De Molen @ 2nd tuesday tasting, hosted by dEnk. Brown to black pour, thin off-white head. Aroma of spices, mate, tea and some coffee. Flavor is dry and bitter with licorice and mate. Well balanced and with a decent body. Unique brew, and well done with the strange addition of mate. deanso (10150) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - JUN 11, 2013
Sample at the molen monthly tasting.
Thin tan head. Clear deep amber pour. Smoked taste. Nice brew. skoisirius (1909) - Earth, Washington, USA - MAY 24, 2013
Bomber. Remember this being rather full bodied and flavored for what’d you might expect. Nice smokey mate flavor well built into the schwarz realm of the brew. Good stuff! 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Bottle:   Black in color, large pillowy light beige head, nice lacing.   Soft charred wood and campfire on the nose.   Otherwise it has a very freshly cut oak aspect.   Strange.   Not roasty like others, but
instead it seems like ash, charred wood, campfire, and fresh cut oak.   Seems pretty full bodied.   Finishes quick, and the flavor diminishes rather quickly.   The fresh cut oak is rather bizarre, but welcomed.   This one
is really different from the norm.   I am actually kind of liking it.   It almost seems more of a light smoked beer aged in oak, and it comes across as an Ale rather than a Lager.   Yeah, very different. anders8000 (390) - aarhus.c., DENMARK - DEC 6, 2012
From Hophead, DK. Bottled, 121012. Black with beige head. Aroma of coffee and liqourice. Flavour with smoke and caramel and roasts.
