Bottle. Dark brown, average and mostly diminishing light brown head. Moderate, fruity - some berries and dryish aroma, light roastiness and light sourness. Body is medium, malty and dryish aroma, berries with light sourness, light roasted malt. Finish is average, malty and dry, some berries with light sourness, lightly roasted with some salty licorice. Reminds me of some kind of energy drink. This one is not for me. Idiosynkrasie (8214) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - JUN 10, 2012
650ml bottle. Clear dark reddish brown colour with small frothy off-white head. Dark malty aroma with hoppy overtones and something discreet spicy that must be the mate. Dark malty taste, a nuttily note, developing later to dry slightly roasted malty as well as dry hoppy. In this case the mate fits well. Marsiblursi (3083) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 9, 2012
(Bottle) Pours dark brown with a red glow. Nougat coloured head. The aroma holds herbs, tea and gingerbread up front with undertones of dark bread, dark caramel, mild roast, clove, thyme, sassafras, dried flowers, dried berries, wet stone, old clothes, dark syrup, liquorice, coal, tobacco and touch of smoke. Very aromatic nose. The flavour is light sweet, light to medium bitter and tiny acidic with notes of tea, gingerbread, herbs, earthy spices, soft dark malt, mild liquorice and a touch of wet stone. The mouthfeel is clean, light crisp and light creamy with a near medium carbonation. Herbal, light minty, soft roasted and light liquorice root-like finish. Light to medium bodied.

On tap at Cerveceria Mateveza. Dark brown in color with a small light tan head. Coffee and roast on the aroma with mild herbal notes. Coffee and tea, roast, chocolate, and caramel on the flavor. On the blander side but not bad. Medium-bodied and a bit lower on the carb than I’d like. This beer is right around average, but doesn’t have too much wrong with it at least.

Post CBC in the Hotel - ’Oh crap I have bought too many bottles again’! Clear dark brown beer, little off white head. Light palate, crisp and dry. Mild dark malts. Minerals. A little dark chocolate. This is a pretty wishy washy beer that is only redeemed by the nice dark chocolate.
