Light gold with a decent white head. Aroma is of cooked vegetables, grain, and leaves. Taste is of hop water and leaves. 19Ei8hty (1166) - Washington, USA - MAY 14, 2010
Lots of musty basement notes. Grainy and wet with stange medicnal character. Hard to pinpoint what was wrong with this but it did nothing to impress. GG (2332) - NorCal, California, USA - MAY 7, 2010

Aroma - standard piney angle, but very low keyed...floral without much character. Not horrible.
Appearance - crystal clear body, golden orange...nearly lifeless pour
Taste - very herbal, not sure what Yerba Mate tastes like, but there’s nothing out of the ordinary here. Light caramel, snappy hop bite, light apple juice too.
Palate - thin, seemed a bit undercarbonated...watery
Overall - Picked up a bomber of this and their Golden ale. $4 a pop, not really worth it.
Bottle shared at a hotel tasting at RBWG 2010. Pours a hazy golden with a thinning head. Aroma is herbal, minty, spicy tea, flowery, grass, and some earthy horse funk,. Flavor is herbs, old stale cheesy hops, mineral, old leather, spice, tea, grass, and very astringent and bitter finish. meh. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - APR 20, 2010
Cloudy yellow orange color. Aroma is light, faint citrus and grass. Flavor has some citrus and mossy aspect. Light body.

Pours opaque and amber with a frothy crown. Fresh citrus fruit and floral hop aroma, herbal notes, cereal malt. Taste is clean, spicy-bitter, tea and pampelmousse. Crisp mineral finish and medium viscosity with late warming alcohol. I think this herbal IPA is refreshing, uncomplicated and underrated. fata2683 (2176) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAR 20, 2010
bottle pours light yellow with a thin white head. Sweet floral nose. Sweet hay and pale malts with a light orange and thin hop bitterness. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAR 17, 2010
Bottle. Pours a golden body with a white head. Citrus, light floral and earth tones. Soft earth with a light honey presence, a viney citrus tone with a lightly apple cider finish. Okay. robertjm (893) - Albany, California, USA - MAR 16, 2010
Always wanted to try this, but never wanted to pick up a whole 6pk as Yerba Mate is supposed to work on getting the heart beating. Pours only a slight hand. Bit of foam on top of an orange sea. Clear orangy body with only a few bubbles. Hoppy aroma. Mouthfeel is odd. As I take a sip its like gas is being released inside my mouth. Not just the first time, but the second time too. Some rubbery flavors amongst the hoppyness. Eh. Basically confirmed my assumption I should only buy a single bottle. BillKismet (4090) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 14, 2010
Hazy sunrise orange with an suitable head, Sharply bitter hop nose with some citrus notes. The flavor is more even-tempered. Medium hoppiness with a solid malt-backbone and some citrusiness and a definite, diffuse herbalness and slight iced tea with a touch of honey finish. Nice complexity.
