Bomber poured a cloudy golden amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of carmel, pine, earthiness and light citrus. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a watery finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness and a hint of pine with a crisp lightly bitter watery finish.

dwyerpg (6078) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - FEB 6, 2010
I think this is a quite tasty beer. A good initial hop bite, a lot of tea/honey flavor. This beer stays very consistent throughout. I really liked this.

hayduke (5188) - Eureka, California, USA - FEB 3, 2010
This 22 oz bottle poured a slightly cloudy amber color with a good sized off-white head. Nose of citrus and floral hops. Medium body with a smooth creamy mouthfeel. The floral floral hops are dominate, and the herbal flavors are subdued. The finish is bitter and the herbs and spices show up more at the end.

bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JAN 23, 2010
(22oz bottle, courtesy of travita) Pours a yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of yerba mate, pine, eucalyptus, pineapple, cinnamon, and banana. Flavor of tea leaves, florals, grass, and toasted sesame.

acblue (91) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 14, 2010
Light citrus hops with an earthy scent from the mate. Cloudy orange with a small head. Flavor is light hops, some malt and more of that mate earthiness. Not something I would want to drink all the time, but a really interesting experiment, the sort I’d love to see more of.

thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JAN 9, 2010
( 22oz bottle thanks to travita) Pours very clear yellow. Nose of juniper, citrus hops. Taste of unsweetened malt/grains, and citrus hops.

3.2
Sledutah (7491) - Utah, USA - JAN 7, 2010
12oz bottle
Appearance: Hazy golden/straw with very little head and no lacing
Aroma: Citrus, pine, flowers
Taste: Sweet malts, citrus and bittering/sour at the finish
A different IPA, but good. The Yerba Mate gives it a different taste than I was expecting from the aroma.

3.5
Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 5, 2010
Amber copper bodied NW IPA with moderate white lasting head. Spicy hops and mildly smoky yerba aroma. Acidic and bitter, moderately slick on tongue. A substantial malt backbone, but mostly driven by the herbal character of both the hops and the yerba mate. Good level of CO2, clean and overall refreshing. I love yerba mate, so I may be rather partial to this one.
