Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Huge head with excellent duration. Color is hazy golden. Aroma and taste are herbs, flowers, malt and hops. A little weird with that yerba. Not sure I like it. Fatehunter (2585) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JUL 15, 2012
Poured into a tulip glass. Golden, cloudy with 1/4 inch head that quickly dissipated.
Smell: Citrus, strong grapefruit.
Taste: Slight hops, followed by light bitterness, little sweetness and ends with the taste of mate. The mate does not linger. All the tastes quickly move from one to the next without any standing out or being overpowering.
Very drinkable. However, I would quickly get bored with it. The inclusion of mate is the draw for this beer since it drinks as a very ordinary IPA or Pale Ale (both are listed on the bottle). The brewery’s website states that 12 oz. of this beer is equal to 1/2 cup of coffee in caffeine. I would have to drink quite a few though to get enough caffeine for a night out... coffee wins there. But it is still an interesting drink and worth trying. Kristall-König (2820) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - JUL 5, 2012
Geruch frisch, zitrusartig, Grapefruit, Mandarine. Süßlich-hopfiger Anlauf. Mitte weiterhin süßlich und mild auftretend, Zitrusnoten. Abgang Zitrus, schwarzer Tee und verhalten bitter abgehend. Ungewöhnlich, keinesfalls schlecht. Christian (13759) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 3, 2012
Markhaven Summer Fun 2012. Hazy amber with a lasting white head. Herbal and grassy aroma, obviously from the tea, with a hint of malt and citrus in the background. Sweetish flavour with odd spicy and herbal notes, and a drying finish Dedollewaitor (16239) - Odense, DENMARK - JUL 3, 2012
Bottle @ Odense Tasting, July 2012. Pours clear golden with a white head and lacings. Tea-ish and herbal hoppy nose. Odd. Plastic and rubber like feel. Medium bodied. Not a fav.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, average and fully diminishing head. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel with light tropical fruitiness and some grapefruit - piney hoppyness, light herbal spiciness (mate - caffeine?). Body is medium, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light tropical fruitiness, light grapefruit and piney hoppyness, light herbal spiciness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish with light caramel and light tropical fruitiness, some piney hoppyness, some sharp herbal spiciness, light alcohol. Finish has too much sharp herbal spiciness. IPA + mate = why? daniele (9463) - ITALY - JUN 2, 2012

650ml bottle. Clear orangey deep golden colour with average foamy firm lacing white head. Fruity aroma with mandarin, citrus, lemongrass - late the mate explicitly shines up. Taste has trouble to present some fruit notes before an initially tolerable bitter note gains weight, that almost ruins the taste in the end by drowning everything else in a flood of soap and unpleasant acerbity. Demands habituation. Therefore the "almost". madmitch76 (25101) - , Essex, ENGLAND - MAY 20, 2012

Bottle from Olbutikken, Copenhagen, shared with Lorna, Paul and Jason in my hotel room. Light haze on this amber beer, small white head. Palate is light and a little dry. Subtle floral notes. Mild citrus, a little minerally orange. Something else going on that is hard to pin down which I guess is the Yerba Mate. Dry finish. Interesting beer without being particularly moorish.
Bottle, thanks to Ken at a pre-Sour & Bitter hotel tasting. It pours golden orange, with a thin white head. The nose is sweet orange, tangerine, mango, floral, spice and herbal notes (Yerba Mate?). The taste is floral, citrus pith, straw and herbal notes akin to matcha tea, with a bitter-dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Doesn’t do much for me....
