COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Brewers Reserve Alpha Pale Ale is very much in line with the beers from America’s North West – assertive bitterness together with a distinctive fruit and citrus aroma - except we’ve put a Matilda Bay spin on it. It has a big hop nose with citrus notes derived from the use of Cascade hops imported from North America. 35 IBU.

Pours clear deep amber colour with thin head, but decent lacing. Aroma dominated by citrus hops, with a nice balance of malt. Thin to medium bodied, a little oily in texture. A hint of spice on the tongue with a bitter finish. A nice hoppy APA,

Bottle- Pours a copper color with a decent head that fades slowly to nice lacing. Aroma of citrus, fruit, some grain and a bit of malt sweetness in the background. Taste of citrus, a mild malt sweetness and a bit of grain. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly medium body, crisp and quite smooth. Nicely balanced. Very pleasant beer, that goes down easy. Good for a few.

A surprisingly nice beer. Nothing too wild and out there just a nice beer different enough to be interesting and easily drinkable. Had a slight bitter sweetness about it and nice hop and fruity notes. Will be hoping this will be on tap during the summer.

A-- Poured a deep copper color, with bits of gold in the glass and pour. Off white one finger head. Lacing is good, leaving decent sized traces through. Good head retention and shows medium carbonation. S-- Big grapefruit hops, followed by a sweet carmel biscuit smell. Very nice aroma, though a bit on the sweet side. T-- Carmel malt kick, followed by a lot of grapefruit. Very oily taste and stays quite oily throughout. M-- Sweetness and oiliness has a lot of dominance in this. Grapefruit is very evident, but more secondary in this. Medium carbonation, medium feel and creamy. Pine and lemon do come in very late in the mouth and really takes away the sweetness of the malt. Still leaves the oiliness of it though.

345mL bottle. Pours deep golden with a wonderful sweet citrus/grapefruit aroma... outstanding for a macro. The diminish through to the flavour but a deep hop resin seems to dominate with a pronounced bitterness. This beer surprised the hell out of me.. very nice. I will be trying to get some of this unique flavour in my home brew.

Bottle- huge upfront citrus hop aroma. Golden amber in colour. Well made beer with hop undertones all through the beer and a nice lingering hop finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pyobon (1458) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - FEB 18, 2012
(bottle) Poured clear golden amber with no head. Aroma was citrusy hops with hints of caramel and grass. Medium body with good carbonation. Flavour had a nice initial sweetness that quickly gives way to a citrus tartness and then a hop bitterness builds for a long finish. Overall this beer lacks finesse and complexity but is still a nice drop.

Pours a nice amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma is fruity with some citrus and hops. Taste is sweet malt with grapefruit and other fruits leading to a decent bitter finish. Pretty good.

Bottle. Pours and orange / amber with small light cream coloured head. Aromas are relatively light with US hops and sweet malt. Flavours are sweet with light resiny bitter hop finish. Light to medium mouthfeel.
