Pours a clear gold/amber with a moderate off-white head. Slightly citrus aroma, medium bodied, low to moderate carbonation, a pleasant drink, with nothing outstanding flavour wise but is just a nice overall beer.
[backlog] 26-01-15 // bottle at Great Southern Hotel, Eden, Australia. Typical helles. Nice malty. No bitterness. Well okay. MRMedellin (297) - Bogota, COLOMBIA - FEB 19, 2016
Clear amber beer with a thin white head that disappear very fast, standard carbonation. Nice malt aromas, sweet flavor, light body, soft malt flavors, not too much hops, watery finish slight malt flavor aftertaste. Morboso (146) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 12, 2015
Mine was just plain Helga, no big on the label. A little heavy upfront, maybe bottom fermented as rays of sunshine beaming from that vicinity. Not a bad drop, nothing offensive or exciting unless you are into ponytails.
Decent head. TedE (1326) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUL 28, 2015
345ml bottle into glass. Weird aroma, fruit/cream/glue/cardboard? But the beer looks great, hazy amber with solid white head. Many fine bubbles ascend slowly. Watery taste with a distant metallic hop finish. A hint of banana maybe but really......nothing else. These Matilda Bay beers promise much, often look the goods, but deliver nothing but disappointment. A watery, tinny lager with good lacing and excellent carbonation? All you remember is the watery/tinny bit. stevoj (5033) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 1, 2015
Very smooth, grassy and silky smooth. Malty aroma and taste, clean and crisp finish. Slightly dry .

(bottle) Aroma did not match expectations but was unusual. Amber colour. Poor head despite the claims on the label. Taste was...well, flat and boring. No malt highlights, bog standard Australian hops. I am wondering how the makers can claim this is an "Oktoberfest inspired lager". It tastes like Crown Lager relabelled. Disappointing. varanid99 (1204) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 6, 2014
pale gold pour, 1cm white head. Malty, sweet aroma. Taste is sweet, a bit of malt, very light bitterness. Ok, nothing special. motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - FEB 17, 2014
bottle, picked up in some bottle-o in newcastle. pale amber; hints of nutty munich malt character mixed with chlorine in the aroma; light grassy bitterness. not a whole lot happening, as befits the style, but at the same time not as clean as the better examples in bavaria Rangi (672) - NEW ZEALAND - SEP 23, 2013
Nice poor with minimal head that quickly receds. Nothing to really write home about this one. Felt like there was just something missing. Easly drinkable on the hot days. King_Dean (63) - SOUTH AFRICA - JUL 15, 2013
Pale orange pour. Small white head. Very little lacing. Malt, Hop aroma. Mild, sweet, drinkable lager, medium carbonation, light bitter finish.
