From the tap at the Local Taphouse, St Kilda on 27/1/2011 (part of a five beer tasting paddle). Dark reddish brown in colour. The aroma sweet malt, chocolate, toffee and mollasses. In the mouth, it’s a sweet one, with chocolate (milk rather than dark) and cola most prominent. There’s modest amount of hops at the back. A decent dark beer, but lacks depth. Obeyed label and "took the chill off" before drinking. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Dark red with thick brown head (poured from a height) that held well. Looked inviting. Nice and malty, taste of unsweetened dark chocolate/cocoa with hint of coffee. Medium body, average carbonation, moderate finish (shrug).
Complimented nicely to the christmas pudding and caramel crunch icecream. This beer slammed me with a headache afterward, but would drink again regardless.
