quite creamy and fairly sweet which surprised me, flavour dominated by the roasted malt and toffee. bmeup (679) - Ormeau, AUSTRALIA - JUN 11, 2010
Dark amber tan head. Choc malt, caramel and dark sugar aromas. Sweet toffee, roasted malt and coffee hint. Creamy light & smooth palate with soft carbonation. bluebetty (1021) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 2, 2010
Bottle. Pours jet black with nice tan coloured head. Nice aromas of chocolate & toffee. Some sourness and a little bitterness near the finish. Flavours are initially very sweet. Some bitterness near the end plus some more of that sourness. Not too bad.

Bottle - Pours tan with no head. Tastes of burned caramel with slight coffee flavors. Smooth to drink. mickmac (488) - Ngunnawal, AUSTRALIA - FEB 13, 2010
Bottle. Average offwhite-tan frothy head overa clear brown (hints of black) body. Aroma and taste of molasses, tar, and roasted malts with a bitter, burnt, slightly acid finish. Mjollnir (414) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - JAN 29, 2010
345mL bottle. Pours a dark red-brown with a small and short-lived tan head. Malty aroma with hints of chocolate. The flavour is unsurprisingly dominated by roasted malt. Medium bodied, average carbonation with a slightly bitter and astringent finish. As with the Alpha; nice beer, horribly overpriced. hawthorne00 (4065) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - DEC 7, 2009
Bottle (new packaging). Pours caramel, huge tan head. Smells nutty and chocolatey. Some roastiness. Fairly thin body, not too sweet - I had it fairly cold to begin with, but it’s still not too sweet now it’s warmed up to room temp. Ends with a bit of chewiness. Carbonation helps keep the mouthfeel end up clean. A little woody at the end, too. Not really complex, but well-balanced and pleasant. Dervock (1416) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 23, 2009
Bottle - Pours avery dark, ruby under light with a tan head. Rich roast malt and molases aroma. The flavour starts off slightly sweet then a nice dry roast malt (coffeeish) comes through. Nice creamy mouthfeel. I don’t mind this at all!
