Bottle. Inoffensive and not a bad session beer. The kind of thing that someone brings to a party and it suddenly looks good next to all the VB and Crownies. Bit weak on the flavour side though, and a similar quality to Matilda Bay’s Bohemian Pilsner. Meh.
UPDATED: JAN 2, 2018 On tap in a nondescript bar at Southern Cross Stn, Melbourne. Pours clear amber, white head with lacing. Little aroma, biscuit malts, a little metallic. Sure this used to be ok ish so either it’s got worst or I’m more used to better beers. Was one of the earlier craft beers in Australia so has some merit for this but has now become a mass produced tap beer. Bland, chemical tasting with a touch of amber and hops. Appearance: Golden body. Small white head. 3
Aroma: A little metallic and boring. 6
Taste: Pale malt. Crystal/caramel. Minor citrus hops. Medium bitterness. More gutsy than a macro lager. 7
Palate: Thin body, lifted carbonation. 2

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2017 Pours a clear straw gold colour with a thin near white head. Aroma is biscuity malt and floral hops. Bottle from the Robert Gillow, Lancaster. Brownish amber, clear with a spotty bit of a head. Resinous and citrus peel aroma. Tastes sweet with a plastic note. Finish is more bitter. UPDATED: AUG 22, 2017 On tap at Prince Hotel, Kirrawee. Pours a bronze gold with a lingering white head. Aroma: Biscuity malt, pine, caramel, grass, mild citrus notes. Taste: Biscuity malts dominate the flavour balance. Mild caramel and citrus flavours. Nice flavour balance, smooth consistency. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. A lingering bitterness dominates the back end of the beer. Slight watery texture at the back end. Easy drinking, and definitely sessionable, but not particularly interesting or unique. Would order this over the other mainstream Australian pale ales, but there are definitely many more interesting Australian pale ales out there.
