i am sure that they’ve changed their recipe, it was never that sweet in my previous tastings 3fourths (9331) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 29, 2004
Clear yellow with a puffy white head. Slightly spiced aroma of banana and clove, similar to a belgian trippel. Light flavor, not much going on, some light spices near the finish, which is crisp and refreshing. Not bad. Spiesy (2338) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - APR 19, 2004
Bottled, in Sydney. First thing you notice on the label is that it says it’s a wheat beer, second thing you notice is that it doesn’t taste like a true wheat beer. Foggy golden coloured body, wheat notes merely outlined in the beer. Banana (acetylene) aroma. Smooth mellowed wheat and fruit flavours. Very subdued. Huge pillowy head over a crystal clear pale yellow body. Aroma is mostly wheat and yeast but a hint of spice and banana. Spritzy palate. Flavour is kind of subdued but there is a touch of the citrus in the finish which is pleasantly refreshing. Excellent after training when I am thristy as a very thirsty guy. Not from under the dunnny seat, this is a gloriously golden wheat beer. Enduring with good reason. Excellant bottle too.

Pale and crystal clear as a Kristallweizen should be. Bananas and wheat in the nose. Goes down clean and refreshing. Trogdor (197) - Cairns, AUSTRALIA - DEC 14, 2003
UPDATED: JUL 3, 2004 excellent australian wheat beer, i'd rate it probably just below hoegaarden white, great thirst quencher on a summer day, i could easily kill a 6pack on a hot day mullet (849) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - DEC 12, 2003
Compared to a megalager this is quite good, compared to a Hefeweizen it sucks. Often shows up in pubs that have nothing but VB/Draught so often becomes my beer of choice.
Nice wheaty aroma but no yeast character (lager yeast I presume). Pretty light on for flavour, bit of citrusy bitterness at the end. Refreshing and drinkable. KBeer (117) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 30, 2003
Its a good beer, just not in my favorite taste. Its served with a wedge of lemon in the glass which pushes the citris taste over the edge. Not a bad wheet beer, but I would suggest it without the extra lemon. Jahills (151) - Cambridge (Hobart), AUSTRALIA - OCT 24, 2003
Very spicey on the palate which is good. It seems to me that all wheat beers have a distinctive flavour and thids is no exception. Tastes dry and smooth early but with a spicey sharp hoppy palate. Smells like crap unfortunately but doesnt taste like it smells. Rich enough but could almost be sickly by the end or a 6-er. Not bad.
