Golden coloured and crystal clear. Fruity, estery banana aroma. Clean with some wheat flvaour. A typical, refreshing German style Kristallweizen. duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 18, 2002
Quite light on in comparison to German wheats, but this Aussie wheat is pretty good, but a bit bland, still i’d rather drink this than other Aussie swill, its decent. Caton (160) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAR 14, 2002
This beer pioneered the Aussie boutique style. Decent wheat style but lost a bit when taken over from CUB. Octopussy (50) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - FEB 27, 2002
Have to admit, I haven’t tried too many wheat beers but I did like this beer. I didn’t mind the dryness, it was crisp and quite refreshing. mutant (854) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 31, 2002
Too thin & dry. Lack of wheat flavour when compared to a real German wheat. Buy one of those instead.

One of the best beers from Australia if you’re an ale devotee and agreat looking bottle itsmax (103) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - NOV 28, 2001
The first ’independent’ beer I ever tasted about 12 years ago. Didn’t think much of it then, still don’t.
Now you have me thinking I should try it again. Might buy a bottle on the weekend and get back to you...

tasting it just makes me want to drink a real german wheat beer. not much taste. too crisp Oakes (17676) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 24, 2001
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2010 Not a bad wheat last time out (2001) but now Redback just sucks. Looks filtered, right off the bat a bad sign. Fresh banana nose is straightforward and all. The palate is soft, sweet with light fruit. The wheat shows mainly in the acidity in the back. This beer really misses the "Cloudy". thebaron99 (110) - Royston Park SA, AUSTRALIA - SEP 24, 2001
Dry wheaty flavoured body, hints of dried figs. Palate is complex and too coarse for my liking. Sexiest packaging since the miniskirt.
