On tap in Bashamichi.
Looks fine, very pale amber/dark straw colour with gentle off white head. aroma not unpleasant. Little bread and herbs in aroma, very gentle. cabonation smooth. BUt that’s as good as it got for me. Sorry, got a little bit of a mix of coconut and baby’s vomit in the back end of this one. Nasty. Tried three times in a sampler glass to drink it but threw it away each time. Does not agree with me at all. another customer in the bar also thought it nasty but one more Japanese guy actually loved it but he is a weird dude and one other who has experience of a few beers thought it interesting and seemed pleased so there you go. not for everyone. Really weird stuff going on, I suspect from those sorachi ace hops and the yeast combo. Without knowing the style, a few of us were left perplexed as to what it was supposed to be. doubtful this keg was off as the bar keeps everything under strict sanitary and temperature controls. alos the importer (Nagano TRading) keeps everything at a solid 3C on the way over from the states and in storage. Really weird beer, this one. Alphadelic (2249) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 26, 2011
The fancy malt is pretty bland in this light ass beer. The hops lend a spicy, peppery flavor like a stinging nettle or something. Not the showcase of the ingredients I had hoped for. JohnnyJ (5569) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 19, 2011
Draft at the brewpub. Clear amberish pour, off white head. Bready malt, lightly fruity and sweet, and herbal hops. A decent every day drinking beer.
