Can at home. Pours black , nose is chocolate, malty, light spice, taste is similar, slight lingering burn. dnstone (3418) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAR 20, 2013
Spiced chocolatey aroma. Black color with a tan head that settles down to wisps. Excellent roast-chocolate flavor with a very light touch of the cinnamon and heat of the chilies in the finish at the back of the throat. Delicious DesertDevil (699) - Arizona, USA - APR 4, 2013
12-oz. can poured into a Maui Brewing shaker. Appearance is that of strong coffee with a half-finger, very uniform dark beige head. Muddled nose of cinnamon, baker’s chocolate, cloves, prunes, and a touch of chili. Flavor is bittersweet at first with chocolate, cinnamon, and agave syrup notes before a faint ester note emerges. The chipotle comes through on the aftertaste with a moderate tongue-prickling heat, but it doesn’t lend much spice to the taste. Silky texture, light body, and low carbonation with a spicy finish that carries for quite a while. It’s worth trying but doesn’t surpass very many of the other similar chocolate-chili stouts I’ve tried. Drake (13739) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 5, 2013
12 ounce can from Beer Run. Pours a dark brown color with a large foamy brown head. Decent head retention. Aroma of chocolate, roast, spice, warm savory notes. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, tart fruits, spicy finish. Medium bodied. Nice. dfinney23 (3278) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 8, 2013
Chocolatey with a hint of cinnamon but I get no hint of chipotle. What’s with all these beers I’ve had lately promising assorted chilies but showing little or no sign of them? Tasty but not worth the price of admission.

Pours black with a nice head. Light aroma of dark malt, caramel and hops. Smooth taste with almost a milk stout smoothness. Malt and not much spice on the taste I’d say. DCLawyer (2845) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - JUN 15, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 25, 2014 Can->Nonic. Black with huge frothy light brown head. Aroma: chocolate, malt, spice. Taste is bitter metallic, with cocoa, pepper, smoke. Thin but decent. thirdeye11 (6160) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 19, 2013
(12oz can) near black pour, dark tan fine bubbles around the edge. Nose of cinnamon, vanilla, medium rich chocolate, biscotti cookies, cream, very mild chili and cinnamon if you search for them. Fairly complex nose. Taste is a bit ashy, maybe from the chipotle peppers, light cinnamon, vanilla bean, chocolate malt, fairly spicy but well balanced. I think the palate and body itself are a bit thin, other than that, a pretty good stout.
